Michigan State didn’t lose to a team that just went 1-11, with its only win against an FCS school, and is considered by many to be the one of the worst teams in a P5 conference. Dantonio earned a little leeway for the 2012 and 2016 seasons. Oregon is no where even close to the situation that Dantonio walked into and if you believe that it is even close, you know nothing at all about college football.
Ha boom!

I would like to apologize for that last response because I was combining two different conversations and it could have been confusing. I was going to back to IF Oregon somehow lost to Oregon State they should be looking for a new coach.

Baylor will at least double their win total from last season. Maybe even TRIPLE it.

Nebraska's road games are brutal. Five losses. Although, I think Nebraska will compete with Northwestern and Iowa. Michigan, Wisconsin, and Ohio State will destroy Nebraska.

Nebraska for sure wins, Akron and Illinois.

Nebraska should beat Colorado, but it is not a gimme. My mind will change once I see how Nebraska looks against Akron.

Troy do not take this Sunbelt Conference champion lightly. Others have and they paid the price.

Purdue, Minnesota at this time are 50-50 games because the games are played in Nebraska. Too bad both games are scheduled after a road game and are before a HUGE road game.

Michigan State is the most intriguing. Nebraska has some sort of voodoo magic on Michigan State. Michigan State should win this game.

Akron - W
Colorado - W
Troy - L do not think this is an easy game for Nebraska
at Michigan - L
Purdue - L come home after a road loss, looking ahead to Wisconsin road game. Not good.
at Wisconsin - L
at Northwestern - L
Minnesota - L come home after a road loss, looking ahead to Ohio State road game. Not good.
at Ohio St - L
Illinois - W
Michigan St - L
at Iowa - L

I believe Scott Frost, even though it's his first year, will be better than what you predicted. Troy, Purdue and Northwestern should be wins for Huskers. Good luck on the upcoming season.

I had to pick ONE. I'm a homer and all, but to predict an undefeated season every year is beyond my homerism ..... kinda.

I agree that we'll drop one, but IMO it'll be like the past two regular seasons and be someone you aren't expecting. If I had to guess I would say either @ Wake or vs Duke at home as it's wedged between a tough road trip to Chestnut Hill and the Coot kickin'.

It would be nice. That'd be the enema they need to get rid of the last remnants of Briles.

Playing at Northwestern is a bitch. They have some weird voodoo going on in Evansville and Fitzgerald is a hell of a coach given the talent he is allowed to bring in.

Once Scott Frost gets his Chip Kelly inspired offense cranked up and operating like he wants, Nebraska is going to be more than a handful for anybody to handle. It's going to take a couple of years but Nebraska with Frost will be better than they have been the past 10-15, by far.

as to my bringing up Dantonio No they arent the same situation but a mediocre year is a mediocre year. (or less) and if you havent seen shit or mediocre teams go from that to 9 or more wins you havent watched enough football.

I’m sure it might look better than what hey have, but Rich Rod tried bringing in a high flying offense into the B1G with much better recruiting abilities and got his dick kicked in.

Rich Rod's version of the spread offense is too extreme as he found out at Arizona. Rich Rod underestimates the importance of having an offensive line that can handle top notch D Lines.

9-3

Seems fairly accurate. I could see 9-3 to 7-5.

We don't know what UCLA will be like under Chip Kelly. You have them later in the year, so they may be playing fairly well by then. But you get them at home.

Utah will likely have the defense to stay in the game and it's in Utah. Depth may be a problem for them.

As others have pointed out, there will likely be some growing pains, even with some continuity in the assistant coaches. But starting the season with Bowling Green, Portland St. and San Jose St. should help them get through some of that.

Absolutely mediocre teams can got to really good in one year, but to assume that hiring from within is a good thing automatically is not correct. Trust me, I’m a Detroit Lions fan.

so basically @SteelersPride and @7Samurai13 you guys are saying that as a fan of a team with plenty of upside coming off a winning albeit average season where the starting QB got hurt and missed 1/3 of the season, with a schedule that most everyone calls the easiest of all P5 teams, in a conference everyone is calling weak, that near every expert is calling a top 25 team, and on average the teams around the 25-20 mark of the final rankings finish with around 9 wins or more that I shouldnt be optimistic that Oregon will make 9 wins?

Well if the season goes like that (2-5), there is no way they should be "looking ahead" to Ohio St lol.
