Apparently the interview process with JT was very through. How did his camp miss this little factoid?
They're giving him Marner to play with. That's already better than anything the Isles gave him to skate with in ten years.

They could've played Carlton the Bear on the opposite wing and JT probably wouldn't complain.

He's saying it to a park bench though.

/Lindros is standing at an Esso station overflowing garbage cans with Super Unleaded and singing the entire "Breakfast in America" album.

That's a pretty fine album, by the way.

Supertramp is one of the very few (only?) rock bands that achieved demonstrably more success and popularity in Canada then they did in the US.

Ignoring Canadian artists who may or may not have had talent and were forced into popularity by narrowminded Canadian content laws. All hail the CRTC !

If that's the case, they should go get Patches from MTL for a case of Molson Export and a few cartons of duMaurier's.

Not mutually exclusive IMO. Just checked CapFriendly, Leafs are still 26th in the League in Cap for 18-19.

Why not add Patches? I would only add to your deal, Gardiner from us and MTL throws in their "Subban in the Bank" rights (which I am sure they negotiated lol).

Gardiner outscored Patches by 15 pts last year. I want all the offence.

But I am dead serious about them trying for Patches. It will be purely a 1 year rental because re-signing him would be impossible and also I wouldn't want to at his age but, they have the space, might as well. Relying on both Kapanen and Johnsson to pick up JVR's slack on the wings is risky as hell. One of them probably won't live up to expectations and will bounce around the lineup. Then you're left hoping Josh Leivo carves out a role or Connor Brown becomes a 25 goal scorer.

It would probably take prospects I don't want to give up (any of our blue line kids) but I would definitely go nuts for a year for some wing help if they're totally fucked on getting blue line help. At least it would make watching Hainsey for 25 minutes a night palatable.

I agree re Patches. Brown did score 20 his first year tho. . .

Yes, if the D doesn't improve, I think their best move is to go full Early 80s Oilers and leave Andersen hanging. And get him a good shrink. Not at all convinced they have the team to win tight defensive games, so why even try?

Mike Babcock does not approve this message.

I'm probably more hopeful on Brown than most Leaf fans but my hope is, like, Bozak numbers. Probably more realistic that somewhere around his rookie year numbers are what he'd be capable of yearly.

Leafs might need to find out which one of Sparks or Pickard can handle 25+ games and give Andersen more rest. I know the Leafs gave up the 4th most shots in the league last season but I don't want to hear that a goalie who played 66 games is "tired" in the first round of the playoffs again.
