Should every team get an All-Star?

Should every team get an All-Star?

  • Yes. I like seeing at least 1 guy from every team.

  • No. It causes some worse players to get in over more-deserving players.

  • Potato salad.

never heard of him. Had to look him up

I'll never forget his sorry ass.

He only started 5 games, but he allowed 28 earned runs in 21.2 innings and we lost em all. Potentially cost us a shot at the wild card in 2007.

I know the Dodgers have had a lot of injuries but it’s still crazy that a season after 104 wins and a WS appearance they only have one All Star.

They do have Muncey on the final vote, however.

This is more Ozzie Guillen's fault than anyone else's. He coulda taken Mark Grudzielanek (or someone else from the offense) and put him at the bottom of the bench, and at least the move would've been at a minimum respectable. Grudzielanek deserved a nod over Jose Lopez that year. Instead he takes a pitcher from one of the worst pitching teams in the history of baseball and plants him in the bullpen without any intention of pitching him.

No. But the host team should get 1 guaranteed(usually probably not an issue).

But at the end of the day it mostly comes down to the idiots choosing.

Like yeah, the Twins were forced to have a rep this year. It’s not our fault they chose the wrong fucking guy for no reason.

I could deal with the host team getting one but forcing all these bad teams to have a rep that isn't really an all star is so horrible.

How the heck did Blake Snell not make it though?

Because they took Berrios when Rosario instead of Brantley not only was smarter...but the correct call.

Insane.

Like JV said, with technology these days, ballots should literally be submitted like two days prior.

He would have been a better choice than Mark Loretta, that's for sure. Teahen had a good year at 3rd but he had a meh first half and missed a month+.

And how the hell did Loretta make it to the ASG? He sucked in Boston. He was a damn good player from 2003-04 though.

Do you like the rule of every team getting at least one player in the All-Star game? Or do you think it's unfair and should be eliminated?
I would like to see the fan voting eliminated because some of the most deserving players don't get selected. It shouldn't be a popularity contest.

Realmuto should have been the starting C for the NL, he was the best catcher in the NL (and MLB) by a longshot. Contreras is a great catcher himself, but Realmuto is having an incredible offensive season for a catcher.

Machado over Lindor is questionable as well, though they both deserve to be in there.

Jason Varitek in 2008 is another story...
