Mookie turns 26 in October

Trout turns 27 next month

We dont need to display numbers at this point. IMO, it's a very tough call. Edge goes to trout for OBP/walks, but mookie is a year younger.

Can't go wrong with either, but Trout has the edge because he's done it consistently year after year.
mookie needed to adjust with no ortiz in the lineup or as the face of the team.

i give him a p;ass for last season, which was still "ok".

Mike Trout 100 times out of 100. There hasn't been one year, including this one that Betts has been better. Not sure why anyone would take him over Trout?

Not sure the year really matters much at all considering Trout is going to be just now entering his prime.

Trout is the easy call

As great as mookie is this shouldn’t even be a debate. It’s trout and it’s not remotely close

This is Mookie's first offensive season on par with anything Trout's done (though to be fair, it would be the 2nd highest OPS+ of Trout's career). Mookie's keeping pace this year, but Trout's got more than twice as many WAR already (and Trout has averaged 1.7 more WAR per season).

Mookie might be the 2nd best player in baseball, but no one's close to Trout.

Can't go wrong with either obviously. But I'll show Mookie some love.

Mookie is entering his 5th year while Trout is entering his 8th. 162 games a year does take it's toll on larger players.
Contract wise Mookie signed a one year extension for 10M while Trout is getting an average of 24M. Eventually Mookie is going to get paid. Yes #s do affect teams. Owners will only spend so much unless your last name is Steinbrenner.

Again can't go wrong either way and I'm glad one of them plays for the Sox.

Does anyone realize Trout is still easily the best player in the league when Simmons is the only guy with a pulse in the Angels lineup? It's the artist formerly know as the California and Anaheim Mike Trout's. The team has like 20 wins if they send him to first everytime.

that infield has been a massive disappointment this year. Pujols hasn't been a good player in years, but Cozart/Kinsler all projected to be above average regulars and they've been hurt/sucking and Valbuena has a 69 OPS+. Kole Calhoun is running a 34 OPS+ and pretty much every SP has hit the DL at some point.

What a frustrating position. The Angels could go .500+ and still finish 4th in the division.
