I don't get it...says they aren't just Wisconsin good anymore then posts a record that the typical Wisconsin team would field

It's a projected record based on their win probabilities. I'm assuming it stems from them being "underdogs" at Michigan and PSU and the third loss comes from one of the Northwestern/Iowa/Purdue games (all of which are road games).

Hornibrooks receivers should be much improved over last year. They were all very young last season iirc. Couple that with the running game and that offensive line and I don't think he is the liability he has been

not sure I agree with this. As Bill Connelly stated:

While we’re at it, Hornibrook is not a good quarterback for Wisconsin — he’s just good. Maybe not Heisman good, but the Badgers ranked seventh in both Passing and Passing Downs S&P+ and first in the nation in Third Down S&P+. They were one of the best at creating third-and-manageable situations, but when they didn’t, Hornibrook caught them up.

He couldn’t pierce the Ohio State secondary in the Big Ten Championship, going just 19-for-40 with two picks. Perhaps that clinched his Wisconsin-ness in the eyes of many fans. But he was 18-for-19 against BYU and 15-for-19 against Minnesota, and against Miami, Indiana, and Utah State (three defenses that ranked 31st or better in Passing S&P+), he had a 66 percent completion rate, a 9-to-1 TD-to-INT ratio, and a 174.2 passer rating.

seems like a pretty solid if unspectacular QB to me.

If I'm coaching and had that line I wouldn't throw a single pass until my running game was stopped. Get them big uglies leaning down hill and let them eat.

Of course, I'd punt on third down, too. You know, too keep them guessing.

Kick a field goal on the first play of the game after fielding the kickoff for a touchback.

They'll never expect that one!

Ooooooo, you want a job? Our brains on the sideline, we could win the championship if we put in Uncle Rico.

I am in! I'll start drawing up plays right now.

The double reverse flea flicker punt on first down!

We might win every game by forfeit!

If we onside kick every time we won't even need a defense.
This is gonna be most epic.

AD Barry Alvarez simplified his method for winning. "put everything into running the ball and stopping the run and everything else will work itself out"

Wisconsin usually ranks between 30-40 when it comes to team recruiting yet they usually finish each season in the top 25.........JUst imagine what they could do if they had a top 10 recruiting class.

They'd probably start chunking it/concentrate on stopping the pass and screw eveyrthing up!

LOL, Big Ten West is a joke.

Wisconsin in 6-0 because of that.

Add in the crummy OOC schedule, and Wisconsin is 9-0.

The crossovers are RUTGERS, Michigan, and Penn State.

USC Prophylactics would go 10-2 against that schedule and then be proclaimed Numero Uno.
Notre Dame would go 11-1 against that schedule and then be proclaimed Numero Uno.
Auburn would go 11-1 against that schedule and then award themselves another championship.

Wisconsin is definitely one of the top teams in the country, but it is still just Wisconsin good.

get back to me when Wisconsin beats two of these four Ohio State, Alabama, Clemson, or Oklahoma in either a one or two year time frame.

Nebraska has more wins against Ohio State since Nebraska joined the B1G in 2011 than Wisconsin. That number is 1.

2019 Wisconsin plays USF Bulls, Directional Michigan Chippewas, and the Kent State Flashes.
2020 Wisconsin plays Southern Illinois Salukis, App State Mountaineers, and Notre Dame.
2021 Wisconsin plays Directional Michigan Eagles, Army, and Notre Dame.

Against a bad Ohio State team.

Best in-depth look at Wisconsin for this upcoming year. Know yer enemy.

Wisconsin isn’t just ‘Wisconsin good’ any more

This is a blatantly wrong statement:
"Michigan cut the lead to four points in the third quarter, then managed two first downs in their final four possessions in a 14-point loss."

Michigan was winning that game 10-7 late in the 3rd quarter. At no point did we "cut the lead (of Wisconsin) to 4". Our QB got knocked out, and our backup came in. Wisconsin then scored some points late in the 3rd to take the lead back and from that point on, our offense struggled with our backup QB in (like it did many times last year). The wrong information here seems to be being used to pump up Wisconsin here. In reality, our QB got knocked out with the lead and Wisconsin took the game over.

Seriously. Peters had 8.7 YPA (157 yards on 18 attempts) while O'Korn had 2.4 (19 yards on 8 attempts). Michigan's defense fell apart after he got hurt and the offense couldn't stay on the field.

I questioned the article also when I read it but didn't go look at the game. It was basically a Wisconsin-type game from last year. Look sluggish and non-motivated the 1st half and totally dominate the 2nd half. I remember saying at the time that Wisconsin wouldn't get full credit fir the win because the Michigan starting QB got hurt.
