Earlier this week, Kyrie Irving pissed of a huge portion of Celtics fans. He mad a very stupid statement and then tried to rectify it. His first statement was that, 'he would consider going to the New York Knicks in 2019.' Immediately Boston started screaming at Danny Ainge to ship his ass out and get a bag of peanuts or even a bag of chocolate raisins. Kyrie started to feel the backlash and immediately added a second piece to his statement............"If I can't stay in Boston."

Damage is done. Fans are starting to want his ass gone.

Before his New York comment, Kyrie was spouting off about wanting to play with Jimmy Butler, who was mouthing off about how poor Carl Anthony Towns' attitude is and how he's gone after this season if the Bucks don't try to trade him. Where does he want to go? LA? Nope, New York.

Maybe Ainge should put all of his effort into moving Kyrie to the Knicks this summer..........

Do the Knicks have anything worth trading besides Porzingis and high draft picks?

And Porzingis may be damaged goods.

They don't need to trade for him, he'll hit the open market next summer. Knicks are better off tanking/playing the young guys like Porzingis, Knox, Frank, etc. another year, then they can go sign Butler and Irving next summer. Kyrie wants his "own team" which Boston will never be with their young core and Brad Stevens philosophy.

I remember when people were calling Phoenix crazy for not dealing Josh Jackson, Eric Bledsoe and a future 1st for Kyrie. Would've been such a huge mistake for a 2 year rental... plus he would've pushed them to be just good enough to pick outside the top 10, in the 11-13 range.

Can't trust anyone that doesn't want to play with LeBron.... guy thinks the earth is flat, nuff said.

You may excellent points, but the Knicks, on the other hand, are known for doing stupid things.

Meh... I'm not pissed at him.

Kyrie says a lot of things. They are overwhelmingly harmless.

I enjoy watching him play. He met high expectations last year before the injury. He has a great deal of value... this 'trade him for a bag of donuts' talk is goofy, @BigKen .

I trust Ainge/Stevens to handle his situation well... if he signs on long term, great... if not, I expect we'll get value in return... I'm not losing any sleep over this NYK talk.

Don't worry, even when Towns inevitably does leave Minnesota, we'll be sure to get nothing out of the deal. Either that, or another solid/good player who ends up bailing a few seasons in with the team. It's the one guarantee we ever have with the Timberwolves.

Whatever. C's stay healthy and they're in the drivers seat in the East next season. NBA players like to run their mouths and there's no loyalty anymore in the NBA. Just have to focus on what they can offer on the court when they're on the roster.

Boston fans are seeing that this dude is trouble and if he leaves they get nothing for him. Still gotta see if he can make it on the court. A baller on the court, but over the last couple years nothing but trouble. Will he ever be happy? What could possibly make him happy? Lol

The regular season is so pointless that I’d hold Irving out until the all star break. He is always banged up with something. Why not minimize it?

He's a RFA... if he chooses to be pissed off, that's his business.

Exactly. With teams running out of cap space, the "smart" play is for the Celtics to sit back and match any offer (if they do intend to keep him, as assumed). If he doesn't get an offer he's willing to sign, then they work out the contract directly.

i think he is a helluva backup plan in case Kyrie's injury woes resurface or Kyrie decides to go elsewhere.

I think he's got a long way to go to replace Kyrie. He's OK as a backup, but he's not close to Kyrie IMO.

You may excellent points, but the Knicks, on the other hand, are known for doing stupid things.

They actually are the poster boys for offering up too much for a player (Melo) they could've had for free in free agency just a few months later. Then again, there's been a lot of front office turnover since then.

Kyrie, Butler, Knox, Porzingis; sounds like a nice core to build around to bring the Knicks back to contention.
