I can't wait to see what Jacob Evans III brings to the overall equation.

Heard he's already committed to working out with Boogie, Draymond and Iggy after the summer league season ends to improve his post up leg work and defensive boxing out strength.

LOL at someone giving this comment a facepalm.

Cousins was surprised he didn’t get any offers well maybe you shouldn’t have declined a 2 yr $40M offer from the Pelicans. After that offer was made and Cousins declined it the Pelicans took that offer off the table. Cousins plan from the start was to ride the W’s while injured to get a ring, his plan worked out lolzz

And for decades, everyone wanted to play for the Lakers, so in the event off 2 similar contract offers, the Lakers won out. Now, everyone is making generational money in a single year, so the $$ is like 4th or 5th on the list of deciding factors. Playing for winner, with friends, in a nice area, and in a good system are all at least comparable to the $$.

The Dubs can offer all of those (including the $$). Why WOULDN’T the stars chose GS right now?

5.3 million is still a lot money, but Cousins is betting on himself. He wasn't going to take a 2 year deal. He wants to prove he's worth a big contract next summer.

This has been responded to multiple times. Lebron/Wade/Bosh colluded during the Olympics to join the same team to chase championships. Starting the trend of superstars working together to remove competition. Celtics spent years acquiring assets and then cashed them in for players still under contract.

Doesn't matter how a super team was built. It only matters that they are a super team.

The goal of a FO is to put together the best team the year can. If they are successful, why hate them?

Agree. I'm not a Warriors fan, but I appreciate what they're doing and how they got where they are.

They're fun to watch, so I'm gonna have fun watching until my Lakers inevitably take them down. :heh:

“It’s a case of the rich get richer. Boogie never reached out to us,” said one Western Conference executive. “I don’t think it was a case of anyone trying to disrespect Boogie. It was more so shock. Like this guy is really available?” He continues, “It’s great for Golden State. Great for Boogie because he gets to rehab with the best team, basically have a strong second half … and get paid next summer. Great for them … terrible for the rest of us.”

Exactly what I was telling someone this weekend. I'm sure if other teams knew Cousins was willing to take close to the MLE, they would have offered him that. They probably looked at it as disrespectful to offer a player of his caliber the MLE.

Here's the problem with what that exec said..."Boogie never reached out to us."

Why is that GM waiting for Boogie to contact them? If the guy is that good and the GM believes he could be a difference maker, then they should be contacting him to check on the status of his rehab and what he's looking for.

Sounds to me like he's trying to blame Boogie for him not doing his job.

Here's the problem with this: There also has to be a right fit for him, meaning a starter role when he returns. It wouldn't make any sense for him to reach out to teams that have loaded front courts. Also makes no real sense for him to take a one year MLE on a non competitive team like the Kings or Suns. There weren't many realistic options for him to go to, in terms of both being able to take time he needs to rehab and also have a large(ish) role and definitely be a starter. No one's going to fault him if he averages 16 and 9 for the Warriors because they understand his role. If anything him being able to average that and be a central cog of a championship team is more valuable than him putting up 25 and 13 on the Suns.

For all the people whining about the Warrior's domination by winning 3 of 4 championships:
1947-54: Minny Lakers win 5 of 6
57-69: Celtics win 11 of 13
80-90: Lakers/Celtics/Piston win 9 of 10
91-98: Bulls win 6 of 8 (Houston wins 2 when Jordan temporarily retires)
99-2010: San Antonio/Lakers win 9 of 12

In fact the only time there has NOT been a run of 1 or a few teams dominance is the 1970s. All eras other than that have had just a few teams crushing everyone else.
