Of course, but they're one of the few teams that doesn't have a pro-level backup on the roster.

Most teams don't have a pro-level back up. That's why they're back ups. Foles caught lightning in a bottle like only a few others have to win a SB.

ESPN Power Rankings is a joke. Of course they put the Patriots at #1, because of Brady and Belichick like usual. Won't they just get rid of the rankings and see how these teams play out in the upcoming 2018 season.

I would like for them to lower the Vikings from #5 to at least one spot below the Packers. History has been exceptionally unkind to the Vikings when they have entered the season with mainstream outlets like ESPN touting them as potential title contenders.

I wouldn't say that. When I say "pro-level", I'm saying they actually belong in the NFL. Austin Davis, IMO, does not belong in the NFL. He hasn't thrown an NFL pass in 3 years.

I don't have a problem with projections, I really, really hate arbitrary and stupid projections passing as a power ranking like FPI is trying.

Austin Davis sucks but most back ups that are pro-level suck as well. One thing we all know, RW goes down the Seahawks are toast.

We certainly do have a good group of CB's here.

Speaking of good corners

So I have no dog in this fight, as I dislike both the Broncos and Ravens, but after reading through this thread it's pretty clear that Old School guy is a pretty big fucking moron.

Im not a Ravens or Broncos fan but I have to say that @Oldschool739 is NOT a "big fucking moron"

This thread turned into a My Cousin Vinny movie scene, when he goes to get money back at pool hall. Imagine if they had the Internet back then ...

It's so hard to consider them anything more than decent at best until Mariota takes that next step. Henry/Lewis will be an awesome RB duo, but their receivers are still unknowns. They desperately need Davis to emerge this year.

I think the main thrust here is that the Titans underachieved last year due to coaching and the new coach can get more out of Henry and Mariota. (granted, they won a fluke playoff game against the Chiefs who also backed into the playoffs but generally weren't ever seen as a contender)

I think the Titans are a team that could improve and it wouldn't show up in the W/L column at all. Their Pyth. Wins and Estimated record last year based on analytics was about 7.5 wins and they slightly overachieved with 9-7.

The flip side to that is that the Titans were the only team with a winning record that finished worse than -2 in turnover margin. If Maritoa cuts down on the INTs and their draft picks generate a couple of turnovers because of pass rush then maybe we're looking at a fringe contender.

I think they're pretty much a lock to win between 8-10 games. Their last 3 games are Giants, Redskins and Colts and while its hard to predict this far out, that doesn't look like a murderer's row down the stretch. The Texans and Colts should both be better than what they were last year and the Texans might be much better so there seems to be a cap to what the Titans will bring, too.

If Mariota doesn't win 9+ games next year then I think Tennessee is bringing in a new QB in 2019.
