Seems a little early for this thread. We won't even see Doncic play for 4 months.

Trae Young. That is all.
Sexton will be a better pro.

Sexton- best point guard (unless you count Doncic as a point guard- which you can i guess) in the draft.

Sexton is a great kid, is a great talent, and has the leadership abilities to be a great floor general. Has a little John Wall in him and a little Kemba Walker in him.

His shot needs work, but he will get there over time. He shot about 34% from 3 and 78% from the FT line.....not bad for a kid that had the focus on him defensively (not like there was much other talent at Alabama).

I hope the Cavs keep this kid unless they get an offer they cant refuse.

Any other draft i think this kid goes higher- so many great bigs in this draft though that he got pushed down a little bit.

He really has the entire package though- smart, great family, was a top 10 recruit out of high school, tons of talent, great work ethic. Toughness.

He is what the Cavs desperately needed- a point guard with athleticism that can push the ball and create some offense, but with the athletic tools to be a solid defender someday

How do you know who will be the better pro? Are you just saying that because Sexton was drafted by the Cavs?

Since you can seemingly see into the future answer these questions. Who will have the best record in each conference by the A.S. break? Will Dan Gilbert ever get his head outta his ass? Will Pat Riley finally be fired? Which HC will be fired next season before the A.S. break? How much more hair will LeBron lose before the season tips off? Is Tristan still better than Whiteside?

yes. absolutely!!!! lol

on a serious note- Young is an intriguing guy just because of the Steph comparisons. If he can make 35 footers and just rain from 3- he will be a great pro- maybe even an All-NBA type player.

The problem with Young is that he is just so small- he almost looks fragile. His defense is atrocious. His athleticism is not that great.

Young does one thing great- shoot. That is prob. the most important thing in the NBA right now.

Sexton is the better overall player. He is a little bit "bigger" physically. He is a much better athlete.

Sexton checks most of the boxes I want checked when drafting an elite talent-

___ . Is he a great talent? Did he have a fluky season and thats why he went so high? Sexton was a top high school recruit with a big time pedigree. Most all mocks i have seen for months had him as either the first or second pg taken along with Young.

___. Is he or his entourage a bunch of assholes? Is he smart? He comes from a great family, had a 4.0 at Alabama and went to class even though he did not have to.

___. Does he fit the modern game? What is his shot like? His shot is only okay. It needs some work. In the more wide-open NBA, he should get more open looks- especially considering opposing defenses only focused on him. He absolutely can get to the rim and finish with the best of them. Is a great pick and roll player. Is extremely slick with the ball.

___. Is he a leader? A point guard needs to be a floor general. Is he that type of guy? Said he wanted to go to Alabama to make his own legacy there rather than pile up at a school like Duke or Kentucky or UNC with a bunch of other high end recruits. Showed that even when the opposing team is just focusing on him, he can make big plays and put up numbers.

___. Is he a hardworker? What is his work ethic like? - from everything that i have seen he takes basketball very seriously and works his ass off.

The Cavs might not even keep the kid, but I absolutely agree with the pick and like what i have seen/read thus far. I would ABSOLUTELY take Colin Sexton over Lonzo Ball right now if you said i could pick one or the other.

I hope Klowhee gives him back his balls for next season. He's gonna need 'em.

To be fair, Thomas and Irving were never known for creating offense for others.

They were both score first PG's more concerned about getting their own numbers

To be fair IT ain't even tall enough to ride a roller coaster. Amazing he's in the NBA.

This is the same logic that got Jonny Flynn drafted over Steph Curry. Almost to the minutia in the details around them. It's eerie.

Damn, that Cavs flavored kool aid tastes pretty good, eh? Sexton is an all right prospect. He’s more Eric Bledsoe than John Wall. And that’s if he can put it all together.
