Everyone was in agreement that the BIG was the best conference in college football this year and not even close.

ESPN has really improved .

Did they consider illinois, Indiana, Northwestern, Purdue, Maryland, and Minnesota?

Funny how the people who cried SEC bias for so long are happy when it's a clear bias towards their conference.

Couldn't even make the playoffs last year, got shut out and embarrassed the last 2 times they've made the playoffs and somehow they are the best conference?

I'll say SEC and B1G are equal this year. Georgia and Alabama are a good comparison to Ohio state and Wisconsin. Auburn is a good comparison to Michigan. The rest are average or below in both confernces. They are equal in my book. But last year The SEC ruled with 2 teams in NCG.

Because when it comes to conferences, it is not about winning Nattys. Overall strength is what counts. Granted, the B1G is a bit top heavy, but no other conference can touch it 5 teams deep, 6 if you add Northwestern. And I think Maryland and Purdue move up to a mid-level this year. So yeah, 8 above average teams, a couple weak sisters and Illinois and Minnesota for trash.

When multiple teams are above your top teams, then you ain't the toughest conference or even close to it.

One of your so called "deep 6" lost to fucking South Carolina in a bowl game. The only reason your conference had the success you did is because you got to fill down in your bowl slots because your teams didn't make the playoffs, meanwhile the SEC had to fill up 2 spots - and still a Big10 team lost to a SEC team.

Sending your best conference team to the Rose Bowl means your conference isn't shit. And if it was only about the top, then the Big12 would be ahead of the Big10 as well. Since Oklahoma also tuned up the Big10's best. But overall I put the Big10 ahead of the Big12.

Put up your 6 best, we put up our six best. I'll take my chances.

All 5 are top heavy. The problem when comparing conferences is the number of teams is so different. Comparing the Big to the Big 12 is very hard. So top heavy for the Big 12 can mean OU and 9 teams that have no realistic shot at the NC. While SEC top heavy with Bama and Georgia means there are 12 teams with no real shot. With the Big it's OSU, PSU and 12 others. Same with comparing the bottom feeders.

Ok, here's last years.

Alabama
Georgia
Auburn
LSU
Miss St
South Carolina

vs

Ohio St - down to Alabama
Wisconsin - down to Georgia
Penn St - down to Auburn
Northwestern - down to LSU, got lucky to beat Kentucky in bowl game.
Michigan St - good matchup with Miss St I think.
Michigan - actually lost to South Carolina in the bowl game.

Who the fuck in the Big10 is better top down? Not a single one, except maybe Michigan St vs Miss St.

I would take Michigan State over all of the SEC except Georgia and Alabama, maybe Auburn, and I don’t even think MSU is even that good.

LSU actually lost to Troy, struggled with Cuse.

MissState lost to everyone with a pulse last year.

I would put Iowa above Michigan.

Put up Your worst.

Vandy vs Indiana: Vandy easy
Ole Miss vs Rutgers: Ole Miss easy
Arkansas vs Illinois: even
Tennessee vs Maryland: Tenn easy
Kentucky vs Minnesota: even

The Bottom of the SEC is way better then the bottom of the Big 10.
The top is debatable but my bias goes all SEC.

That's a possible scenario.

OSU-Alabama 55% Alabama
Wisconsin- Georgia 57-58% Georgia
Penn State-Auburn 52-53% Penn St
Northwestern-LSU 55% LSU
Michigan St-Miss ST 55% Michigan St
Michigan-South Carolina Fuck Michigan.

All one score games really. However, I think you put too much emphasis on one game or for that matter, the CFP. The CFP determines the best team in a one off matter.

I wonder what this will look like after this year.

Hey dumbass you didn't do this right.

1. Alabama isn't eligible for comparisons.
2. Two years ago tOSU beat OU handily so no way they don't kill Georgia.
3. Two years ago Wisconsin beat LSU
4. Michigan lost their QB so that game doesn't count.
5. UCF was the real national champion so you can completely throw Auburn out

Clearly the B1G is the better conference.

I started to put Michigan St one up higher, but I was going off last year so had to put Northwestern above it. I had the same opinion on games, it would have been a good one vs LSU.

And I figured he was thinking Michigan instead of Iowa as his big6. Don't think it changes anything really though.

All that said, the bottom of the Big10 is down right putrid and should have been taken into account. But ESPN has become hot takes for click bait.

I would put Michigan above MSU if they get solid play out of the OLine.
