NWA weren't expecting that lol

They started it. Which was pretty dumb considering they knew how gifted Cube was. Did they think he was going to just let it go? To this day, Death Certificate is still me favorite rap album. Sometimes I'll play a few songs of it at the pub to piss people off. Nothing like throwing on "Giving up the Nappy Dugout" to a bunch of middle aged white dudes. And yes, I am a middle aged white dude but I defy anyone to listen to My Summer Vacation and tell me Cube isn't an amazing story teller

Off topic but considering your avatar....Did you catch Luke Cage on Netflix and if so what did you think of it. Lil Ms Cyder and I really enjoyed it.

Like, why in the hell would you diss a dude that wrote your raps? Like you said, Cube never said anything about them. His beef was with Jerry. Just crazy lol.

I have no idea why people do incredibly dumb shit like that. If anything, Cube should have been the pissed off one for everyone else siding with Easy and Jerry.

A little over the top, not rare for a Superhero show, but I highly recommend it. We watched the entire series in a few days. Binged the shit out of it. The Defenders was worth a watch too. Stay away from the Iron Fist one. Godawful.

I think it's come full circle. As a white guy pushing 50 I don't say rap sucks, I'm at the "Today's rap sucks" stage. Because as we all know, the music people grow up listening to is way better then the shit kids listen to today.

quick drive by----

i DEFINITELY do not think this is a big deal and the media is over reporting it

where I do think it is relevant is where it fits into the aggregate. from the Russell/Swaggy P social media mess, to LaVar Balls big mouth, to Buss children fighting for control of the franchise, to all of the losing for the past half decade +, the failed free agent forays like LA, it just kind of all adds up to a fairly non-flattering picture of the franchise over the past few years and is in stark contrast to the smart, polished image of the franchise that was so successfully sustained under Dr. Buss.
Where's my vcash and where's.your avi you welching piece of shit?

There's actual science proving that you will never love music as much as the stuff you listened to from age 12-20. It doesn't have to be current then, if you listened to a ton of Beatles music as a teenager in the 1980s, you will always love it more than anything you get into in your 20s or 30s

Makes sense. My Mom was a huge Billy Joel fan and so am I. His last album was 1989 I believe when I was 18

Yep, I was a teenager in the 80s too so I like a lot of stuff made then but I was also into a lot of 70s and 60s stuff and nothing since has been as awesome to me. Some 90s music was.

agree re Billy Joel

The delivery these days is a lot different. The ones that generally get brought up the most in terms of lyricism is Kendrick Lamar and J Cole but there is a ton of R&B in modern hip hop. It's different but not necessarily in a bad way. My username may be a Tupac reference but I listen to a lot of different artists and genres and I can still appreciate hip hop and some modern hip hop. Not everything but even artists like the Migos are pretty interesting if you look at them purely from a creative standpoint.
