Golden Knights it appears had a nice celebratory dinner to wind up their first season...

Having the most punchable face you would think you would try to make it better but this just seals the deal.

NOTE: Everytime I see Oshie I think of this scene:

It's getting dusty in here again - Great photo!

Man, I could not help but be amazed with Oshie as an overall player. I get why Ovi is getting the most attention, but I think Oshie was the best, overall and consistent, player of the series. Not really close, second is kind of a toss up after him.

It sure looks like a hell of a party is still raging. Happy for Ov and caps fans. Dont choke on it, go ahead and gag on a few though. Yeah Im still a little bitter too.

The party went from Thursday night through yesterday's parade. Not a car was over turned, no store was looted. Are you paying attention Philadelphia? This is how it's done.

There is no way DC went an entire weekend without a store getting looted.

Callers are on the radio commenting on how an AA woman and a Hispanic construction worker saw his gear and asked "are we gonna do it tonight?" This has created the perception that the Caps have created a whole new fan base. I'm not so sure about that. I think many of them will be like people like me regarding the World Cup. Sure I show interest, but only when Team USA is doing well. It's not like the last WC got me hook and I've been watching soccer from that point on.

No I suspect that construction worker may pay more attention to the scores moving forward. But a real hockey fan watching them play the Islanders on a Tuesday night in February? I don't know about that.

Heck even for diehard Caps fans it will be hard to pay attn to those mid-season games. Hockey is such a weird sport. Sure you want your team to have a record that gets them into the playoffs. However beyond that it really doesn't get you much in terms of playoff success. Preds, Jets, Lighting & Bruins had the best records in regular season & they only went so far. Caps in previous seasons had the best regular season record twice & could not make it past the 2nd rd. Better record also gets you home ice advantage which apparently means nothing in the NHL. Caps record in playoffs was way better on the road then at home.

It will be really strange watching the Caps next season - I will appreciate it but now anything short of repeating won't be that big of a thrill & certainly in the NHL any number of teams could be champs next season. Oh well - that is why you enjoy things as they happen & don't worry @ the future.

Oh I watch all the regular season game and I'm hardly a die hard. I will admit to at times catching on late, seeing the score, then backing up to see who scored. But I do consider myself a fan, just not a hard core like you are.

The people I mentioned will in a lot of cases be as I am with soccer as I described, only jump back on when they go on a deep run. But that's OK, at least they are fans now.

So by the end of next season, there should be a new bumper crop of new Capital fans!

I've been waiting for teams to start wooing support groups like AA and NA etc. Lots of marketing opportunities!

Left the day after they won with the fam to Virginia Beach for a long weekend and I wore my oldest, weather worn Caps hat I could find just so I wouldn't be lumped in with the newbies
