Guess I should give them a whirl, although I think at the end they develop the same problems that Kodi has.
Probably so. They work just as good if not better than show box does for me right now though. Probably better.

And Showbox uses torrents which will get you in trouble if you get caught.

does the actual stream use torrents though or is that just the "download" feature?

For SHowbox it is the streams as well on many occasions although I heard they were going to change that.

Sticking it to the man. Other than that nothing. Some people believe all content like this should be free so they host things.

Fucking the cable company gives me great pleasure. Much like having a beer on a boat or getting a hand job by a Japanese woman

Cable TV is like Rx drugs. The US consumer pays 10 times what other countries do.

Does a Fire Stick do things that a smart TV doesn't? I can download Amazon prime onto my TV as is.

I want to cut the cord SO BAD but it's live sports that keep stopping me. I need my NFL.

Yes. It allows you to download and use almost any Android app under the sun on your tv. There are many iptv apps and players you can use to get free and low cost cable.

Although for sports you really only need access to the internet. Sites like 720pstream.me have all the games for the major sports. Decent HD quality too. Really dont need any type of device for that. Just use the browser on your smart tv (or attach the hdmi to your computer if it is not a smart tv).

Are the sports stream sites better than they used to be then? I used to try to do that to see out of market games and it was always a virus waiting to happen. So much junk and spam I gave up.

They are getting better but there are still a lot of junk sites out there.

Cut it brother!

To retain customers, if you cut cable but keep their internet, Comcast will give away their Xfinity app (that will get you the 4 networks+) ESPN's app is free, not sure about NFL network, but that covers the majority of NFL games.

I wanted a total break from Comcast so I went with AT&T fiber to get the fastest internet available here (1000 ethernet, 200-400 wifi, dependent on the device) have YouTubeTV which is working out great so far.

Xfinity app?

I would love to totally cut comcast out. Hate that company. They're the only game in town for internet where I'm at though. Son is a big-time gamer so I need something fast and it's either comcast or DSL where I'm at.

The way they do the protected territory for these cable companies Comcast had no competition aside from AT&T Uverse, or a Dish. When you start streaming...everything becomes an "app" instead of a station.

My son is a gamer as well, but I'm not sure how big...he's got a FT job and soon to be moving out so I wasn't quite as concerned about the gaming aspect. But I was concerned about picture quality as most of the TVs rely on wifi

In addition to cable we were on the 2nd highest speed tier for internet with them so there was another level which I think would've worked, but AT&T Fiber 1000 was less and faster.

I wish AT&T had fiber out with us. Ugh.

I really need to look into cutting cable. I might have more questions for you haha.

Fiber...hit or miss it seems. I'm in Buford, one town over, they don't have it yet. Heck not all of Buford even has it yet....the office has a large AT&T office down the street and they have no clue when Fiber is coming here. Of course 1000 mbs download sounds great and it's pretty close during non peak times...on ethernet. Wifi is 200-400 if your device can support it.

I think anything close to 75 down will do okay for a house our size with 4 or 5 devices running. My golf buddy just cut cable and they have 75 down. I haven't heard how it's working yet.

No problem...I'm learning a bit as I go to be honest, but fire away when you come across something.

Get ready for 5G wireless soon. I think its a matter of time before phone companies start competing with cable for residential internet.

I thought about switching to ATT but the monthly data usage limits have kept me from pulling the trigger.
