Look who's taking in the action at Indian Wells (man, he looks like he could still take a regular shift in the NHL):

Milos just defeated Grigor Dimitrov in three sets (7-5 3-6 6-3) and will next face Denis Shapovalov at the Madrid Open. First career meeting between the two Canadians.

Nah, clay is by far his worst surface, give credit to Shapo for playing a dandy of a match, a battle of young guns tomorrow as he takes on Brit Kyle Edmund for a place in the semis.

Denis is up to #34 in the ATP live rankings, if he can beat Edmund tomorrow, he'll jump into the top 32 which means being seeded for the French Open. Not too shabby for 19 years old.

Denis prevails over Kyle Edmund in three sets 7-6 6-7 6-4 and is now up to #29 in the ATP live rankings. He'll play the winner of Isner - A. Zverev in the semis tomorrow.

If Shapo beats Tomas Berdych tomorrow, he will surpass Milos to become the top ranked Canadian player as Milos is not playing this week and forfeits 180 ranking points.

Shapo looks like he's going to be the next great Canadian tennis player, will be fun to watch him this year. I wonder if Milos or Genie can do good this yr. as well.

With his win over Berdych today, Denis Shapovalov is now the highest ranked Canadian male tennis player.
