Hell, if ya'll don't think Nelson Cruz is roiding, that's just delusional. He has been caught before and somehow in his late 30s he's still hitting the cover off the ball. Perhaps Robbie should get some advice from Cruz as to how to hide it better.

He's getting reamed. Who here doesn't have a medication from a foreign doctor treating a legitimate condition which happens to also be a masking agent. I checked my medicine cabinet and there's at least 15 banned substances that I take daily!

Hell, when I was working on my undergrad degree and my J.D., I would always take adderall when I needed to cram. Idk the age group of all of you guys, but I'd estimate that at least 75% of my friends/fellow students did the same thing.

Yeah, well you need to put an asterisk on your degrees then.

We'll see how this pans out. I'm not optimistic and the org is on the hook for a ton of money but maybe (yes, I'm being naive) it was him dealing with nagging injuries, getting frustrated, and trying to cut corners so he could stay out there. Cruz got tagged himself but he's been nothing but productive for us.

Yeah I think he just continued using substances and just didn't get caught. I do genuinely believe most pro athletes use performance enhancing substances. When there is that much pressure on you, I don't blame them.

But I'm biased. Regardless of substance use I do believe that Sosa, Bonds, Ramirez, Clemens, etc. belong in the Hall of Fame. They weren't the only ones juicing, they were just the ones who got caught.

well to stay with the theme of the mariners youth program i would like to suggest trading for

mauricio dubon...short stop....milwaukee brewers he is at there AAA colorado springs he is only 23 years old
R/R..hitting 343 ave obp is 349obp...that is not good...slg is 574 that is a little low for MLB
but it would give an extra guy at tacoma as a prospect and you could try for milwalkees competitive round B at the same time...that would be pick #73

cano was only hitting 287 with 4 HR's that is not great..its ok though... but five players have more HR's on the mariners roster
mariners are 23-17 a better record than i have seen them have in recent history....nothing is over

and my plan will work with cincinnati and rosell herrera instead at 6-3 he is a switch hitting 311/347/607...even better and plays all infield,..also from dominican
there comp B is #72

I may be the only one on this board that feels this way, but if PED's are used to be a winning team, then I don't want to have a winning team....period! I do not know for certain if Cano was using, or had used PED's but if I had to make a bet, I would bet that he has used PED's and the drug he got busted for was to hide his use. Kids look up to baseball stars and when PED's are used to enhance their performance it just ruins it for everyone. A-Rod was a classic example. Sorry if I offend anyone, but I will never support a player who uses PED's. No respect from me is left for Cano.

This would mean you have no respect or support for Dee Gordon or Nelson Cruz? Though you'll root for them on a nightly basis?

I'm not trying to bust chops, but the reality is a lot of these guys use or have used PED's. It really doesn't bother me cause pro athletes in every sport will do whatever it takes to get that winning edge. Everyone has their limits of course, but you don't make it to this level without doing everything possible to be the best you can be. What I have never understood was guys like McGwire, A-Rod, Bonds, and now Robbie all have unbelievable talent without the PED's. So why risk your legacy?

You're right, kids do look up to baseball players. They also look up to the president, police officers, doctors, fireman, THEIR PARENTS. This is a learning opportunity for kids, and one that parents should use to allow their kids to grow as human beings. Unfortunately, kids are getting far too sheltered and pussified where god forbid they get exposed to something not being perfect. Its ok to look up to Robbie as the ball player, imitate his swing or effortless throw. Its on the parents to teach their kids that non of that comes from cheating, and they, like Robbie, don't need to cheat just like he didn't need to. Its about hard work and dedication to get to that point, but even then they may not be good enough. Until then, work your ass off.

Ultimately, I still love Robbie and will root for him the second he makes his way back to 2nd base. Nobody is perfect, and he got caught trying to get an edge. At 35 I welcome it especially on his contract, do what you can to live up to your boat anchor of a deal cause if you cant be traded you might as well produce at all costs. Now get Felix some of that fountain of youth

so what is his bullshit excuse through his interpreter? Was he being treated for "an undisclosed medical issue? Was he "trying to get pregnant"? Did he "buy it at GNC"?

I think we have heard them all by now.

Option #2 (Was he being treated for "an undisclosed medical issue?)

Most unfortunately, he got caught. Nobody should be surprised yet another ball player got popped.

I saw something last night that he took the banned substance due to an issue with high blood pressure which it brought back to normal levels. His tests before and after the tainted test were clean. Take it for what its worth.

Yea it doesn't really matter.

Either he is a cheater and stupid or he's just stupid. Either way it fucks the Mariners and as a fan that's really relevant to me.

If that truly is the story and he didn't mean to do anything wrong, he still is responsible for being dumb and negligent. You gotta know what you are taking. This dude is 35 and been around the game long enough

Eh, this is where I'm confused about the whole situation. That medicine is used mostly in people without a serious condition for kidney issues. Why the hell wouldn't he and his people say that instead of leaking high blood pressure or just keep it with a undisclosed illness. This whole thing is just weird but I also don't care if he took any PED especially in the off season.

I don't think he is dumb and is surrounded by people who want a piece of his pie. Regardless if he is or was being a moron or knows nothing about medicine he has people around him who would double check what he is taking if it was an accident.

Well call it what you want I feel that going to the hof and winning championships isnt in canos priorities I think he plays the game for money which is why he left NY and came to Seattle because we offered him a more lucrative contract.

My theory is that after dealing with injuries along with a subpar season in 2017 that he might take some kind of enhancements to help him perform so that he can still keep getting paid. Its not like teams get to recoup any money from a player when they get caught with PEDs. Not that this is related but if I was a below average baseball player and taking steriods would make me a ton of money I would definitely risk it. I would leave the game with a bad reputation but hey atleast ill make a million if not a couple hundred thousand.

If he played the game only for money, he would've completely gave up after he signed that 10 year $240m contract.

What incentive does he have to dedicate time to staying in shape, practicing, etc. if he only cares about money when he already has signed the last contract of his life? He wouldn't bother using PEDs at 35 if he didn't care about his legacy or winning championships.

Contracts in baseball are fully guaranteed. He could've literally struck out every single AB for the rest of his career and he would've still been getting that paycheck.

With Dee Gordon moving back to the infield for a while, that means we have an open spot in the outfield...

...Ichiro?
