So.....that Brooklyn pick that is/was so highly coveted is a #8 pick.

If Cleveland has a problem drafting consistently with top 5 picks, don't know what they're going to do with this one. Not high enough to net you an all star player by itself.

Can they package it with a player for something?

Yeah, good point.

I am not exactly shitting rainbows about picking late lottery.

But, I am very happy to have 2 picks.

Not getting that Pistons pick would have been horrific.

You should be able to get 2 nice players at #12 and #13.

The Lakers definitely improved. If they are able to pull off the coup and get Lebron/PG then they could definitely lose to the Warriors next year in the WCF.

I still don't think that Kawhi is going anywhere but if a package of Fultz, Roco, the No. 10 pick and a mix of picks and draft and stash players would be more than worth it for the Sixers. Probably would be ok with swapping Roco with Saric if that got it done.*

* - Assuming they were able to resign Kawhi and he is healthy.
Yeah, I think Kawhi may work it out with the Spurs.

But, I'd try...lol

I saw somewhere that George us a fallback if you don't get LeBron.

I haven't seen anything that suggests he would be interested in anyplace but the Lakers or Thunder.

But, George would be awesome too.

Mikal reminds me of early PG actually...

If I were a Laker fan I would definitely be looking forward.

But this draft is the last big FU from Buss to the Lakers. Kinda like how this is Billy King's last big FU to the Nets. Although that FU was a lot more raw and unlubed than Buss'.

Buss was a complete fool. glad he's not stinking up our offices for future decisions...

I knew it wasn't going to be as good as everybody thought.

This is where the Fultz trade really screws us. Covington, whoever we picked at 3 and #10 is a lot easier to part with if we have that Sacramento pick.

Colangelo is the worst.

Better to have too many than not enough. I'd like them to not trade Bogi or Buddy but if it helps the long term future of the team I'll understand. Luka could still go #1 though, the new Suns coach used to coach him.

If the Suns take Ayton, I think the Kings have to strongly think about taking Bagley.

Sure. The number 5 last year would have been better. But I'm pretty comfortable with getting the No. 10 this year. I don't sweat stuff like that.

Wanna know what would be much worse? Not having our lottery pick.

So how is what i've been saying homerism?

In the situation the Lakers found themselves in, this worked out better than they could have hoped for.

I’m seeing Porter might fall to 10. Kinda interesting.

I'd say Wiggy put just right amount of English on that pick, wouldn't you agree...,? :heh:

I had no problem with that pick at the time. A little unfair for me, at least, to now criticize him for Fultz getting hurt. And I certainly haven't given up on Fultz yet.

Sure if we had the Kings pick still that would be a really sweet package for the Kawhi. But such is life.

Yep.

We have holes galore.

Hey, did you see the Lakers worked out Ketia Bates-Diop?

Told you he'd be a good fit.

I like Jontay Porter, Hutchinson, Brunson and Shake Milton at #25 too.

You guys will get another good rotation player.

I'm thinking Li-Angelo Ball.

Well they could have hoped that they were actually good when they traded for Nash and the Suns would have received a non-lottery pick. That seems like the best case scenario.

Sure, it could have been worse.

As for your homerism when you say things like "I doubt there's a single Lakers fan upset about how this went down." it drips of homerism. EVERY Laker fan should be upset that they gave up this pick. They can be happy that it wasn't worse but that is only a consolation.

I bet they will take Trae.

LeBron likes him.

But, not enough to stay just because they draft him.
