Wait. Am I reading this right? Ya'll are really downplaying Kawhi Leonard and thinking the Spurs would do a sign and trade (no longer possible under the new CBA) with Kawhi and Randle straight up?

I guess I need to do LSD to see what crazy shit I'll end up saying.

I hope you're not calling Leonard the best player last year - He only played 9 games

Kawhi only played 9 games this year. He was easily a top 3 player last year when he got the Spurs to the WCF before his ankle injury.

Some experts sat that for a one year contract only on Kawhi - Ingram is the most that Kawhi is worth - The Lakers are not in a rush and there will be other free agents - They don't need to give up the store for one player. I personally think the guys on ESPN and have played in the NBA knows more than you - nothing personal

Nobody that knows what they are talking about thinks Ingram is worth more than Leonard. Nobody.

Oh dear, someone else who doesn't have Kawhi's nuts in their mouth and you get pissy again.

Not angry.

Making fun of people who don't know what they are taking about. But you can think what you want. I won't lose any sleep.

only thing i'll say is it's still too early to know what he's truly gonna be, which honestly is the only thing that gives me pause...

other than that, it's hard to argue the facts...

Known vs. Unknown

I am so confused about what player is being discussed...

Is it Randle or Ingram?

If Kawhi is healthy, it doesn't matter which one.

You couldn't trade both of those guys to get a healthy Kawhi.

But, his health is unknown....

Maybe he makes a full recovery...

Maybe it will take awhile, like it did Jrue Holiday.

Maybe he never gets right like Chandler Parsons....

Too much risk RIGHT NOW....imo

He isn't wrong. But you can't rationalize with certain posters.....something I should probably be telling myself as well for that matter.

I He may have been a top player for those 9 games this year, but he was a zero for the remaining 73 games. There is no way anyone can with authority say that he will automatically come back and play like he did before and be 100%. I think it's natural to think he would, but before any team trades valuable assets, I think they will want to see what he can do.

That being said, I don't see as if the Lakers need to make a trade. Their players are young enough continue getting better and are a long ways from being at their peak. With the rumors running amok as to who wants to sign with the Lakers, I think it's just a matter of time until the Lakers gets a free agent. A year from now Leonard will be free agent - just wait and see if he is still interested, but I was going to gamble:

I would bet $1000 right now that Leonard is still a Spurs player next year and being signed to big contract.

Ingram and Kawhi are not even in the same league. I'd take Kawhi 11 times out of 10 over Ingram.

The argument was about last year. Last year was easily a top 3 player.

It all depends on his injury and how severe it is. I'm not a doctor and I don't know what his quad looks like at the moment. But Isiah Thomas playing hurt and costing himself over a $100 million has players thinking about the long term. Wouldn't shock me if Kawhi approached it with that in mind.

But regardless if Kawhi's coming back 100% or not (which is uncertain at this point). You can't automatically say that Ingram's better than him. Only the homerest of homers would come up with some asinine shit like that.

Not from me you're not - There is no way in hell Popovich is going to allow any deal with the Lakers. Come on now - He would sell his soul to the devil first - lol

Eh.

Made 1 post making fun of them.

Not getting in deep in this one.

But seriously though. That shit should be reserved for Laker boards. When you say stuff that dumb on NBA main, I feel like it is my job to call them out. No crazy homer stuff goes unchecked here.

I have to assume that Kawhi made the right decision based on HIS PERSONAL HEALTH. I have no problem saying he was top ten or whatever player IF HE PLAYED THE ENTIRE SEASON. I have no problem saying if he is healthy, he is a top whatever player. BUT HE WASN'T - HE WAS INJURED AND NO ONE KNOWS IF HE IS HEALTHY YET.

I have been in the position where I insisted on a second opinion for my mother. She was 84 years and the doctor wanted to do an exploratory surgery on her heart and I said NOT WITHOUT A SECOND OPINION YOU'RE NOT. Two experts told him NO. I am assuming that Kawhi will be ready to play this fall and I assume that Popovich and Kawhi will work it out. If they don't then - look for him to get traded to the eastern conference. If Lebron stays in Cleveland, or Miami. I already know that the Lakers will not get him unless he is a free agent and wants to come to the Lakers.

If he doesn't, I don't think that matters because the Lakers are getting good enough now to attract free agents like before, so I think it's good. Now if some of you don't agree with that - then oh well
