lol...did you read those comments?

he just said it was more likely a human being grows a third arm out of his ass and uses that arm to make NBA passes that would make Magic, LeBron and Nash jealous.

Somehow you took "its possible" out of that statement.

You sound like Lloyd Christmas- "so your tellin me theres a chance!". lol.

Why don't you do the math for me, mr lawyer?

Keep it below 5000 words though will ya cupcake?

lets just do a simple little exercise

How much cap space do the Lakers currently have?

How much does it take to sign a guy to a max contract?

I'm not sure she understands that teams operate under a salary cap.

At the end of the day, whether it's getting a free agent, or keeping the core of Zo, Kuz, and B.I, the lakers will be just fine

I think it is entirely possible that the Lakers will bring in PG and/or Lebron. That probably WON'T happen and I'm not even sure if the Lakers are better off with that happening right now or not. That would almost certainly mean that Randle leaves. And it would change the chemistry of the team dramatically so unless it meant that the Lakers were a title contender next year, I don't know if it would be worth it to sign both of them.

Why don't you do the math for me, mr lawyer?

Keep it below 5000 words though will ya cupcake?
First I need to educate you.

1. The salary cap is slated to be about 103M

2. A max salary starts at 25% of the cap. If you are a "Rose Rule" FA, have had a certain amount of All NBA or have started the All Star game you are eligble for up to 33% of the cap.

3. LeBron's contract would start at about 35M

4. George's contract would start at about 30M

5. Right now the Lakers have the following players with GUARANTEED contracts next year:

Deng- 18M
Ball- 7.5M
Ingram- 5.8M
Kuzma- 1.7M
Hart- 1.7M

=34.7M

the following players have either team options or qualifying offers:

Randle: 5.5M (hes a restricted FA so the Lakers can match any offer)
Tyler Ennis: 1.7
I. Zubac: 1.5M
T. Bryant: 1.4M

6. You HAVE to have at least 14 guys on an NBA roster. Say you only have 5 guys on the roster (like the 5 guaranteed contracts listed above)- those other 9 spots have "cap holds"- meaning you cant spend a minimum amount of money since you need to save it for those roster spots. So- even if you took 103M- the 34.7M guaranteed- (for a total of 68.3M), you really dont have 68.3M since you need to have cap space for those cap holds for the open roster spots. Its why- you should really just count guys like Zubac and Ennis and Bryant as guaranteed- since they make so little- and at least Zubac is not worthless.

7. After cap holds for the empty roster spots, and assuming you get rid of Randle- you will have probably between about 56M and 60M in cap room after you figure the "cap holds" for the open roster spots, and the cap hold for the first round pick that you received from the Cavs.

8. In order to open up additional cap room you can "stretch" Luol Deng. The stretch provision allows you to take the number of years still left on a players deal (2 years in the case of Deng) multiply it by 2, and add 1- and spread the contract over that length of time. 2x2 =4 + 1 =5 (YAY WERE DOING MATH!!!). So you can spread Deng's 36M due to him over 5 years- thus lowering his cap number from 18M for this year and next year, to 7.2 millon for the next 5 years.

9. so lets say they stretch Deng

Deng: 7.2M
Ball 7.5M
Ingram: 5.8
Kuzma: 1.7
Hart: 1.7
Cap hold for 1st round pick from Cavs: lets say between 2 and 2.5M
Cap hold for 2nd round pick: 1.5M
Cap holds for other 5 roster spots (assuming you sign George and LeBron)- lets say about 10M
George- 30M
LeBron 35M

= 102.4M JUST UNDER the salary cap of 103M

you are there!!!!!!!!! for 2 guys

now please tell us how you fit a third guy under there you simpleton like Kawhi who's "Rose Rule" Max would be 35M.

Was Durant going to GS impossible too?

I have yet to find anyone who can post the numbers up to tell me otherwise.

The Lakers have about 60 million of cap space available for next season, assuming they renounce all of their holds. Signing Lebron and Paul George to max contracts would cost about 65 million next year.

So without doing any move the Lakers would have a roster of

Deng
Kuzma
Ball
Ennis
Ingram
Hart
Zubac
Bryant
James
George

So they will be over the cap already and have a starting roster of Ball, James, Ingram, George, Zubac. And then the FOLLOWING year you think they are going to bring in ANOTHER max cap guy(~32 million a year)? And your reasoning is? Because they are the Lakers?

That roster above isn't winning any titles unless Ingram and Ball make MASSIVE leaps forward.

You ask for an explanation and when is presented you belittle it. That's a cop out.

they hsould wait and sign Klay and Cousins- stay young and do it there own way. Stay away from LeBron who will be 34 in December and stay away from George- who has been very unimpressive as a winner if you ask me.

Plus- Lonzo Ball sucks at shooting and needs the ball in his hands. Those are like the 2 things you DONT want with LeBron James. He would thrive with a shooter like Klay and a Big man like Cousins---- but LeBron needs shooters that spread the floor and loves having the ball in his hands (as he should -hes unreal at passing/vision etc.) To me lonzo ball is a terrible fit with LeBron--- But Lonzo Ball is a much much better fit with Klay and Cousins.

LOL.

No. In fact, it was openly discussed as a possibility for the better part of a year because of the cap spike and the fact that Curry, Klay and Dray were all still on bargain deals because of their years of service.

What you are suggesting is nowhere near the same. All 3 of these guys are eligible for full max contracts, if not supermax contracts. Those 3 guys you want would cost at least 95 million and the total cap is 108 million.

So no. Not possible unless they took fractions of what they are worth.
