Spurs would beat all of the following for sure:

Washington
Milwaukee
Miami
Boston
Indiana

They would have a chance against:

Minnesota
New Orleans
Portland
Utah
Toronto
Philly

They aren't beating any of the elites as is, but they are far from the worst team in the playoffs.

I disagree on Indiana. That team is pretty good

You do realize there are teams in the East, right?
I'll amend my statement to say "weakest team in the West". It could arguably be said that an Eastern Conference team is weaker than the Spurs. I can't think of one, but I suppose it could be argued.

Really? Because I'd say half of the teams in the East would probably lose to the Spurs in a playoff series. Washington and Milwaukee for sure.

No doubt the Spurs have a damn good defense but their offense might be the worst in the playoffs. Aldridge is their only guy who can score at a high level. Pelicans, Twolves could possibly be 1-1 against W’s but in the end it wouldn’t matter.

Cleveland played a bad game but I still highly doubt the Spurs beat Indiana, have you seen their offense. It’s hard to watch at times. They would struggle against anyone of those teams minus Washington and Miami.

Should be an easy one for the Dubs unless Kawhi magically grow a pair of balls

One of the more weird situations in the NBA...but not the 1st time a player has been cleared medically and sat out.

I would ask if the magic is wearing off of coach Pop.

SPURS are 33-8 at home....currently on an 11 game winning streak at home
SPURS are now 14-29 on the road....currently on a 10 game losing road streak

They havent won a road game since February 25th.
They havent lost a home game since March 3rd.

They have WTF?? road losses to Dallas, Atlanta, Lakers twice, Detroit, Orlando
They beat GS, Houston, Utah, Minnesota, New Orleans, OKC, Portland at home just in the last 3 weeks alone.

I still dont know how to look at this team.
Golden State is clearly the better team, but San Antonio has never been so HOME/ROAD lopsided.

I think this ends up a gentlemen's sweep.

Having said that, doubting a Pop coached team is about like doubting a team with Lebron on the roster. You do it at your own peril.

It's unlikely that the Spurs will shoot as poorly from the perimeter in SA.

If the Spurs can press their advantage in the paint, hit some perimeter shots and somehow go back to the Warriors house 2-2.....who knows?

For those who want more info about Kawhi's injury:

Assuming that's the case, it does change things a bit. Maybe this is just a case of the Spurs being the most tight lipped team in the league and Kawhi being the most tight lipped player in the league, conspiring to make the situation look a lot worse than it really is? :noidea:

When it comes time for Kawhi to sign his extension, that will tell a lot, imo.

The Warriors have dominated the entire league beating the snot out of all teams for nearly 4 years

They have 4 all-stars PLUS several former elite players like Iguodala and West all still playing at peak levels.

I dont think losing to them with a depleted roster is some indictment on Popovich's ability to coach.

There is no reason to think they wont play again in the Finals.

The SPURS would beat the crap out of Minnesota and Portland. Those are favorable matchups even without Leonard. They handled them all season. I was actively rooting for Portland.

They could hang with Houston, OKC and New Orleans. The Spurs know how to outcoach any D'Antoni team. NOLA and OKC would come down to whomever had homecourt winning the series.

UTAH and GOLDEN STATE were the two worst possible matchups for San Antonio.

Far from the weakest team.

It is all about matchups as usual.

I don't know; Milwaukee gave Boston everything they could handle and if the Wizards had Wall they'd be tough

Boston's without their two best players. Wall also played in game 1. So it shows how much basketball knowledge you possess when you don't even watch the games. Fantastic.

All of what im posting makes sense...but it doesn't fit the media's narrative. So believe what you want.

It's not an indictment on Pop in the slightest. But in this particular series, the Dubs are playing with 3 all star players.

Iggy and West aren't playing at peak levels; at least comparable to what their respective peaks were. But they're still rather efficient.

The Spurs are well coached and have a great defense. Since the teams outside the elite are very close in terms of talent, the Spurs would be competitive against many of these teams and might beat some of them in a series, but I don't see them being clearly superior. The can beat some of these teams, but also can be beaten by any of them.

This is a team that, fighting for their playoff lives, lost a few head-scratchers like the 2 games against the Lakers.
