Well the Cavs defense is suspect. The Pacers have basically one legitimate scorer. If the Cavs were to give up 120+ to the Pacers that would be a serious problem.

Exactly my point. The Cavs defense is a serious concern for them. To the point that I'm not going to dismiss a poor defensive performance that costs them the game as "oh well, it was just 1 game" .

Their offense on the other hand has been fine and will continue to be fine. Their offense was good, yesterday, especially after the 1st quarter. That was just an awful shooting display that I am not concerned about happening game in and game out.

I mean the fact that LeBron collected 12 assists with the way that team was shooting from the floor is mind boggling.

Yeah Indy win games because of their defense & playing at their pace They're nothing special on defense.

Finished 19th in OFF EFF, 23rd in PACE

i just dont know if the Pacers can get to 120 with their offensive talent.

Oladipo went for 30+ and they didnt break 100.

If the Cavs put up 110 pts its hard for me to see a scenario where the Pacers are able to keep up--- and the Cavs offense is definitely good enough to put up 110 if they are clicking and hitting shots.

Clarkson, Korver and Calderon combined to shoot well over 40% from 3 in the regular season- something like 44% while on the Cavs....they were 0/11. That is not likely to happen again.

My point here is that the Pacers played exactly the way they want to on Saturday. Slow pace defensive minded game. I don't think they will be able to do that repeatedly against the Cavs but that is a concern for the Cavs.

I don't think the Pacers can score 120+ even against the Cavs defense. If the games are consistently under in double digits or the low 100s, the Pacers are going to be fine with that.

Pacers don't need to reach 120 vs Cleveland. They're a solid defensive team. Keep games in the high 90's/low 100's and they'll be in almost every game

I'm not sure if that's really the case, though, especially after the 1st quarter.

The score makes it look that way, because of the 1st quarter and the fact that the Cavs missed so many open looks. IMO, after the 1st quarter, the Cavs had their offense executing exactly how they wanted, just didn't hit shots (also missed a lot of FT).

I saw an awful lot of crying from bron bron in g1. He needs to just play ball.

Great opening win for the Pacers; I still find it hard to believe they can actually win the series though. We'll see

Well ok, I guess. The Cavs didn't shoot well certainly. But the most points the Cavs scored in any quarter was 27. Hard to argue that they were doing what they wanted.

But anyway, I do think the Cavs will win the series but I thought it would be a 6 or 7 game series before it started and I still think that.

According to nba.com closest defender stats, Cavs went 3/16 on "open" 3's (defender 4+ feet away) and 3/12 on "wide open" 3's (defender 6+ feet away).

Cleveland is a revolving door. LeBron has been there twice, and they've had like 6 different coaches since his first arrival.
"6 different coaches"? I thought LeBron was the coach?

I can't find those stats. Can you provide a link? Thanks.

Cavs looked a little tight and a little unfocused and they shot the ball poorly. Indiana played with a chip on their shoulders, hit some tough shots- and had an answer for every time the Cavs tried to make a run.

You can see that this is a mentally tough Indiana team that has been defying expectations all year long. They seem well coached and have a balanced roster.

The Cavs need to bring the tempo up and just play their game- surround LeBron with one roller/screener--- either TT or Nance Jr., and 3 other shooters--- and do their thing--- start raining triples.

Stephenson cant guard LeBron. Turner is going to have a tough time with Love over the course of a series. The Cavs just need to relax and play their game and hit some shots.

Clearly you didn't watch the game. James had practically no help on offense.
and how's that been different from the reg season?
