Bush needs to work on his breaking pitches. Did not have it today although his FB was effective.

Sounds about right. Yes he needs the work but always thought service time came into play especially in a year about player development. Proven fact by not signing Darvish. Past was different when Mazara appeared and sticked.

Have to we other players as well. The platoon in LF is going to happen

Did not see game. Outing with daughter but to me this was issue in his attempt to start. Have to have more than 2 pitches being thrown consistently

Went by ballpark today to check out work progress and thought then current ballpark is much better then a few others currently use. Oakland and Rays park immediately come to mind.

Such a nice stadium to tear down

I love the Ballpark as much as anyone, but I'm excited about the new stadium.

Most fans can’t stand day games at this park.

Need the retractable roof in a bad way.

Can thank our “ brilliant” former president George w Bush for building the park outside in the heat.

My wife is one of those fans who express that need. Ha. Have had season tix in past and yes seats in the shade are preferred.
Had to get in game shape to endure the heat. Just went by and admired the structure and utility.

Also young son and I brought my mom to the park for the first game an exhibition against the Mets. She loved baseball. Before 911 we could walk in free after 6th inning as we did any Wednesday night church at hotel next door.........a lot of good memories there

It seems to be no secret that JD is “ keeping his powder dry” at this point. He’s probably trying to wait it out until we can get into that new ballpark and ( hopefully) the Astros get weaker.

I don't mind being $35 million under last year's budget, but I would expect an influx of young players and a departure of veterans who can't be expected to be much help in 2020. That hasn't come close to happening at this point. If it doesn't happen by the trade deadline I am going to seriously question the direction this team is heading in.

I'm not sure what your plan is exactly for the team, but it sounds rushed.

The present plan appears to be wanting to straddle the fence at best and indecisive at worst.

Do you mean rushed as in it is too early to assume this team can't win it all this year?

Or is it rushed in that no other young players can reasonably be expected to play on a big league team at this point in their development?

The farm is seemingly depleted, bottom heavy, and lacks a future stud ace pitcher. Not exactly a good recipe for a rebuilding project.

Hell..... Calhoun was the center piece in a “ take it or leave it” offer from the dodgers. Unfortunately, Calhoun is one of our best prospects and he was probably #6 or #7 on the list of prospects we wanted from the dodgers. I felt like or front office didn’t do a good job of leveraging the high end trade piece we had in Darvish.
