Keenum might be a long term solution but he might not be. I view this deal as a prove it deal. If he plays the next 2 years at the same level as last year he might be the solution. Kurt Warner wasn't considered a savior either until he got a shot.

I see it that Keenum was the second best option on the market. If Denver was out of the Cousins sweepstakes then why not take the next best guy? Maybe those down on Keenum have a different 2nd best QB on the free agent market. That would be fair.

I am a little worried that this is Gary getting his guy as he coached him in Houston at the beginning of Keenum's career. I am also worried that Keenum was a one year wonder. Only time will tell, but the money for Keenum is not horrendous for a starting QB.

Keenum had 10 games last year where he didn't turn the ball over, I don't think we even had 1, so he's an upgrade just on that alone.

I have spent the morning watching different sports shows and some are down on Keenum and some are very positive.

Some say he takes a lot of chances with the ball and doesn't have a strong are to take those chances.

Other say he is not a 1 year wonder as he actually performed pretty well on a really bad Rams team in 2016. He won 4 games as the starting QB.

I am personally taking a wait and see approach with him, but I do think in free agent he was one of the better options behind Cousins. I don't know that Cousins is worth the 10 million a year difference frankly. We will see if both Keenum and Cousins will be on the field in 2019 when the Broncos travel to Minnesota. Could be an interesting game depending on what all occurs between now and then. Ironically the Vikings and Redskins will play that year too.

The final 4 QBs thsi year were Keenum, Foles, Bortles, and Jesus. I think with a good defense and improved OL Denver can be fine

Keenum played with a great defense in Minnesota. We all know that. He had 3 very good ball catchers. He also played with an offensive line that Pro Football Focus ranked as the 22nd best line last season. The Broncos had the 23rd best.

I agree. Drafting a QB would be a poor move for the Broncos. Lynch has only started 4 games and Kelly has potential. I'm not that impressed with any of the QB's in this years draft. Last thing the Broncos need is another young QB to choose from.

I love how Crash thinks because the all mighty Elway drafted Siemian and Paxton Lynch that he can make them great… Does he fail to realize that Elway is the one making this move? If he is so great at QB decisions then you shouldn’t worry… It means he has evaluated Keenum and feels he can help more than Lynch of Siemian (but Geo’s wife could have told you this) So sit back if you have confidence in Elway’s QB decisions and relax. You complain because people have given up on Elway’s QB decision yet it appears he has done the same. If you’re that confident in him and his ability to sign/draft develop QB’s then move on from what he wasn’t able to do with the garbage we have on the roster right now at QB.


For the rest of us. I think we are all wondering if he knows what he is doing at QB period. But you gotta change something if what you have isn’t working.


I still look for us to go QB early as our long term solution, but for now… I feel we have upgraded at least.

Buffalo by trading to twelve, looks to be serious in moving closer to top to get a Qb and Denver could very well be the landing spot. If it worked out ,Denver could land top 3 OL and either DL/LB or Wr in rd 1 and like DC said earlier, go after Rudolph. Be nice scenario anyway

I was thinking today. It’s funny how one thing can change a lot of things. If Bridgewater stays healthy, Bridgewater probably gets a big contract to stay in Minnesota. Cousins might be a Bronco and Case Keenum might still be hiding as a backup QB. Or if Bradford had stayed healthy while in Minnesota. Everything happens for a reason I guess. (well not everything) but maybe the reason was to get Keenum where he belongs.
