And, truth be told, the Sixers are not exactly a team lacking in height. If he were the 2 the starting 5 for the Sixers would be 7'1", 6'10",6'10", 6'9", 6'4". And Fultz has a 7' wingspan. IMO, that was actually one of the reasons why teams liked him so much.

Just need to see more of him I guess. By the time I tried to watch him play in college last year, he was injured (and west coast games can be tough on an east coast work schedule). Other than a brief summer league appearance, he's been off my radar.

Mid-range is definitely a tool the best PGs seem to have. It's a shot to pull out when everything breaks down or just to keep defenses on their toes after you've probed the defense early in the possession. Catch them sleeping a couple of times and they'll stay glued to you, which is what you want because you don't want them clogging up space elsewhere bottling up the offense. At the very least, every great PG needs a floater that they can release just a step past the FT line

Useful for sure, and keeps the defense honest. Ball typically looks for the pass instead, but having that shot would help draw the defense.

Agreed. I didn't get to see him play live in his brief stint with the Sixers. So I have no idea what he will be able to do.

I don't think Kawhi is going anywhere personally. Plus, if the Spurs were ready to move him, I would be a little concerned about what I was getting.

Was purely hypothetical. I agree he is probably not moving, but there was a lot of noise awhile ago about his unhappiness with the Spurs.

Of course Draymond is undersized for a center. He's technically undersized for a power forward historically. 6'7, 230 lbs, and he's listed as a SF/PF.

Fultz seems undersized since I only see him sitting down in a suit... :heh:

Sixers fans keep bringing up Fultz; he's been largely out of sight, out of mind since he hasn't been playing. Nothing disappointing about Ball (other than the time he has missed to injury and his family's distractions).

I was told by a very close source to Lonzo that Lonzo was going to dominate the NBA. I’m disappointed.

I know that Colangelo comes with his own baggage but I really can't say that I have disagreed with anything he's done since coming to Philly.

Maybe he should not have traded up to No. 1 but, IMO, there was a huge difference between Fultz and Ball as far as style of play is concerned and Ball would have been a very poor fit for the Sixers. So if they roll the dice and see if the Lakers go with Fultz instead, it puts them in a difficult position. From a pure skill set perspective, Fultz was the ideal pick.

The 76ers would not have taken Ball at #3 if the draft went Tatum then Fultz.

So we haven't had much talk about the RoY race lately.

So has anything changed for anyone over the past weeks? It's still Simmons vs Mitchell?

Mitchell seems to be very up or down. His game against the Pelicans was really good. His previous 3 games were all kinda meh.

Simmons has been more consistent in recent weeks but without the huge games that Mitchell has put up.

My sense from the NBA media is that Simmons is likely the RoY when it is all said and done because he's been doing it all year but it is far from certain.

It would not be in the NBA's best interests to validate the Process.....

Lol....I just posted about this in the other thread.

From what I have heard, I think it's Mitchell for the media.

But, if I were voting today, I'd give it to Ben.

This one will go to the wire.

You have to remember that Ben is Robin, while the media sees Donovan as Batman.

That matters s too.

Ben is essentially Scottie Pippen.

Great. But, overshadowed on his own team.

I was at the Jazz Wolves game, Wolves started a come back and then Mitchell buried them in the 4th. He was unstoppable, he does everything you wish Wiggins would do. As much fun as I have had watching Mitchell all year I am not sure I could put him over Simmons for ROY, Simmons is good to great at everything except 3's, but I can't blame a guy for not launching deep when he can get to the rim whenever he wants.

The one thing Mitchell has going for him is when the Jazz NEED a big basket he is by far the best option for his team, Simmons is just kind of another guy. Basketball is 48 minutes though and Simmons is better for the majority of those.

Mitchell's defense is way undervalued on here as well. He is not great, but he is a solid defender overall.

From a purely Xs and Os perspective, however, it is hard to argue that Mitchell is the better choice.

Simmons basically leads all rookies in every category except points in which he is 2nd.

He is 4th in the league in assists. He's 7th in steals. He's 3rd in defensive win shares.

From a production on the court perspective, he's clearly the RoY. But to your point, there are other factors involved. Image matters. As does league antipathy towards The Process, although I'm not sure how much that matters with Hinkie long gone.

You could definitely be right. It's still a tight race.

They are asked to do different things.

Ben is the pg.

Donovan plays next to Rubio, who is a pass first what?

POINT GUARD.

Ditto for Gobert with the defensive numbers and boards.

He cleans up a lot of messes.

So, I'm less concerned by his defensive rating, assists or boards.

If you get a second to watch this video, I think you will enjoy it.

It perfectly illustrates my point, while completely blowing it to Shit at the same time.....lol

Agree with all of this.

So far, Ben has shown to be superior at everything, sans scoring.

Well, it's not like he starts every game with 10 points.
I mean, those 17 points don't just fall automatically for him.....

Even with the horrid FT%, his TS% and eFG% are better than Mitchell's.

It's been awhile, but I think Simmons only has competition with point in the paint from Giannis, which is nice company.

Regardless, it's in the hands of the US and Canadian sportswriters/broadcasters, so it could come down to whatever game they watched last and remember most about the player.

My favorite part of this video is how he pronounces Gobert
