Nope lol. Whiteside had a hip injury early Saturday & missed the Wizards game on Saturday. Wade on the other hand unfortunately had a very mild hamstring injury early in the 4th of the Wizards game. Both guys did travel so hopefully they play some point on this mini road trip

Thanks for that.

What's more important to you?
1. Getting the best seed possible
2. Going into the playoffs at best possible health, regardless of where you wind up

Simmons has put a LOT of minutes in this season. He's played 64 of 65 games with 34 minutes a game played. Probably could use some rest himself.
* grimaces painfully*

ROY race is still razor thin.

Might come down to the last few games before voting.

But, I'm leaning Ben.

Health is more important. I really don't care about seeding unless we can get HCA in round 1 which seems like a stretch at this point.

The most important thing to me in addition to best possible health is being matched up with a team I think we can beat in round 1. In other words, not the Cavs or Raptors

If you go by advanced analytics at bballref, it's not really close.

Mitchell has a higher USG% (28.7 to 22.7), beter TOV% (13 to 19.4), and a better OBPM (1.3 to 0.6).

They are even on TS% (Simmons .553 to Mitchell .545), STL% (Simmons 2.4 to 2.2), and minutes played (Simmons 2216 to 2107).

Simmons has the edge in PER (19 to 16.5), TRB% (12.1 to 6.2), AST% (35 to 19.3), BLK% (2.2 to 1.0), OWS (2.7 to 1), DWS (3.6 to 2.8), WS (6.4 to 3.9), WS/48 (.138 to .089), DBPM (3.1 to -0.3), BPM (3.7 to 1), and VORP (3.2 to 1.6).

But, pointzzz....

How many 3 pointers has Ben taken this year vs. Donovan?

* Hint closer to 0 than to 20

Ben Simmons’s Historic Avoidance of the 3-Point Arc

That skews the hell out of the shooting %.

Again: Go to guy vs. 2nd option is what gives Mitchell a boost.

************Extremely exaggerated comparison alert **************

Chris Paul is putting up 19, 5 and 8 and didn't get a 2nd look for the Allstar team because he's being overshadowed by Harden.

He might not even get All NBA either.

This is happening to a MUCH lesser extent to Simmons. But, Embiid is the catalyst towards winning.

Mitchell doesn't have that impediment. So, if they make it to the playoffs, he's getting most of that credit.

That might be enough to get the award.

Fair enough.
I could counter by arguing that the Jazz go as Gobert goes.
He gets hurt in December : they go 4-11
He comes back : they go 13-3

Embiid might score more points than Simmons, but the metrics indicate that Simmons is the better defensive player. That was totally unexpected. I don't expect that to go noticed and I don't expect Simmons to win.

Which would further fuel my anti-Sixers conspiracy theories that I am currently peddling.... :D

Sadly, it's not on the refs, it's on the NBA for that dumbass rule. They basically gave a license to the time keeper to affect the game. For an example, what if it's game 7 of the Finals and the Raptors are down 1 with one second left against the Warriors in GS, and he purposely decides to start the clock while the ball is in the air. The dumb rule would make them jump ball at half court and now the Raptors have no chance at a decent shot loses the Finals.
Interesting, I didn't realize that was an actual rule. It would seem that using common sense would be the better/fair option. SMH

Hmmm, great points.

Utah was awful at the start of the Season.

Mitchell had a horrific start.

But, I think much of that had to do with that lineup.

A team with a healthy Gobert, Favors, Rubio is not lighting the nets on fire from the perimeter.

....which is what makes what Donovan is doing even more impressive.

You know who's shooting it.

But, you still can't stop him.

With all that being said, Ben should win it....lol

He's head and shoulders the better all around player.

But.....* see LeBron.

Some of us take what Ben is doing for granted in the exact same way.

Just saw the Spurs aren't in the playoffs right now (Actually tied for 8th in the west), if they miss the playoffs this year be the 1st time they've missed since 1997. They're the Spurs though so I still think they sneak in.

Seeing the Spurs in the lottery would be a scary thing with how their organization's scout department runs.

Rockets out here trying to lock up the #1 seed.

Meanwhile the Warriors cancelled practice today after the entire team (including coaching staff) turned up at Steph Curry's 30th b-day party.

Warriors in 4.

Fuck United. Bastards.

"Maggie Gremminger is still heartbroken over what she witnessed on March 12 on United Airlines flight #1284 from Houston, Texas, to New York City’s Laguardia Airport.

The community relations manager tells PEOPLE that a fellow passenger’s dog died on the flight after a flight attendant adamantly instructed the unnamed passenger to store her carrier, with the pet inside, in an overhead storage bin for the duration of the flight. According to Gremminger, 30, the black French bulldog barked from the bin at least 30 minutes into the flight, but was found dead when the owner went to retrieve her dog once the plane had landed.

The tragedy began when the dog owner boarded the plane with a young girl, a baby and the dog in a carrier, which Gremminger says looked like dog carriers that she has seen others use on planes. Gremminger was seated in the row directly behind the party of three and saw the woman place the carrier with the dog inside under the seat in front of her."
