Just because each league needs to have 15 teams.

I try not to trash talk until the Reds are 2 games up with 1 to play.
In rare cases in history when that has happened, I learned that by that point, I don't need to do any trash talking.

Just looking over the rosters and spreadsheets, data, trends and analytics, I'd say the Reds clinch on the 25th of September. They'd clinch sooner than that but they need to let some of the callups get some innings.

Seriously, I'd put a buck or two on the Brewers to hang in there till the end.

Cubs pitching staff, for the moment, is looking rock steady. Now if the bats pick it up...

This is a division that is going to take time to mature.
It may be late July before there is separation.

Cardinals first 3 starters all look like '5 inning' guys unless they get hot. I think they all have that potential but
the days of starter like Adam Wainwright hogging innings is over.

Matheny is going to have to be quick with the hook and the bullpen is going to have to save the team. I've defended Matheny and trashed Matheny in the past but this is definitely going to be the year the defines him.

Thats an oddly political feed.

I get making fun of fanbases. I know I have my opinions but mixing politics and baseball just makes it weird.

That record will fall a dozen times before Memorial day. Hitters are all interested in launch angle now and the better pitchers -- and even the average ones with potential -- have learned to adapt to that. Hitters aren't going to try for ground balls anyway because the shifts are killing them. So swing away with an uppercut. Ah ... strikeouts are going to continue upward.
The difference is, the Cubs have 8 guys who can launch when the launch angle is right.
