Word out of the ATL is the Falcons are going all in on getting an offensive weapon at at TE with an eye on one of these 2 guys . Graham has onviously been great during his career but getting up there in age. Eifert is a beast but has trouble staying on the field. Who would you want if your team was going to get 1 of them ? Or would you not want either

Having watched every snap that Jimmy Graham played in 2017, I'm not a huge fan.

I actually thought he would have a huge year for the Seahawks based on his second half 2016 statistics, but he dropped a lot of critical passes. He also was not much of a weapon most of the time on offense, most of his catches were either jump balls in the endzone or dump offs in the flats. His touchdown catches extremely exaggerate his overall productivity in 2017.

Graham had more games with less than 10 yards receiving (5) than games with 60+ yards (2). Also, he is a terrible run blocker.

He doesn't seem to be the force that he used to be even a few years ago. I'd also worry about injuries with Graham given his age and recent injury issues.

I'd go with neither.
Hope your current TE grows (I know they had high hopes) or wait for one in the draft.

Yeah I don't love either guy. Personally I'd like to see Atlanta sign Ziggy Ansah and get a TE in the draft but word is they are really looking for a redzone threat in hopes to free up Julio in that area.

If you want a redzone threat that won't pose much of a threat for the other 80 yards of the field, Jimmy Graham is your guy.

The Falcons are better off not spending significant money on Eifert or Graham. Eifert I think has higher upside though.

Honestly I think that's pretty much all they're looking for. Don't think it's worth the money personally

I agree. Also the money you'd be giving Jimmy Graham would make him a starter and his run blocking doesn't justify it IMO. He has improved, but he is still one of the worst run blocking TEs I've ever seen.

if its just a redzone thread jimmy still can do that, otherwise neither is a true overall threat

Don't love either but it's obviously Graham

I wouldn't bet a dollar Eifert ever plays 10 games in a season again

Eifert I'd like on a cheapish contract. He's great when he's actually on the field; as long as the contract is in line with that I think it's fine to sign him.

Neither. Can't they get anyone with potential to be more a consistent TE?

I'm with Moose. If the price is right I'd take Eifert. He's proven as well as a decent end of line blocker. But his injuries scare you.

Graham has been on a steady decline since he left NO. Not sure what happened with him last season. He only showed up in the EZ. Teams have literally taken him away in games. He can't block and never will be able too. He's a diva...no thanks

Depends on the money. Neither are gamechangers anymore and shouldn't command top dollar. I wouldn't pay much for either. Both are basically the same player in that they are only really effective in the RZ. I'd say Graham based solely on availability. A gust of wind from a butterfly would be enough to hurt Eifert.

Do they want to stay to be #2 TEs though (Burton behind Ertz, Brate behind Howard)? Does ASJ want to stay on a bad Jets team?

ASJ may like the idea of being a target monster on the Jets, over being the 3rd or 4th option in Atlanta tho
