I don't see how they didn't win more. Yankees fan btw. Jeter was unbelievable.

I was too young to enjoy it, but the 95 WS win was one of my earliest sports memories.

Bullpen was the team's big weakness in the 90's, and they ran into a dynasty. I'm more pissed about 2002 when we lead the Majors in most every offensive category and was near the top in pitching and were first round playoff exits. Chipper Jones, Andruw Jones and Gary Sheffield all in their primes as the outfield. Andruw had to cover the entire OF by himself, but God damn, they could hit.

Tons of respect for the Braves but I couldn't stand Jane Fonda doing the chop.

I was too young for that. But I do wish Ted Turner still owned the team, or Arthur Blank would buy it instead of being owned by a media conglomerate in Colorado that sees us as a spreadsheet.

The Yankees hurt them but they had some years that they laid an egg. I honestly would have bet money they would have won more than 1 world series. I'm a Ted Turner fan. He did what it took to build a great franchise.

I'll never forget this one:

Why in Gods name do you throw a slider to a guy like JL when you have a 95+MPH fastball ?? Ruined Wohlers mentally for the rest of his career and Frankly...I was happy it did, I still hate him for that supidity. And I actually like BOTH teams :pound:

I see a lot of WV love early, are they going to be that good? The defense was an utter mess and their OL was pretty weak. I get the QB and WR spots are bad ass, but is the rest that much better? (Serious question, I haven't looked into what they return)

We have a lot coming back and some key pieces coming in via JUCO and prob grad transfers that should help this years team.
I'm so excited to for this season because its either going to be a fun year for WVU fans or the beginning of the end for Dana Holgorsen.

That's a pretty wide spectrum of expectations for WVU fans.

Lincoln Riley has a 100% winning percentage in Conference Championship Games
Hope that helps.
And if he wins the Big12 next year, we can add him to the list.

That's a pretty wide spectrum of expectations for WVU fans.

Well, I think the fan base has been split since RichRod left Morgantown so, IMO if it doesn’t happen this year with OU retooling and Texas still figuring it out then I think most will realize that Dana is not the right HC to ever give WVU a shot at a Big12 title. If not now, when? Kind of thing. Most “normal” years WVU is not going to compete with OU and Texas (just like everyone else in the Big12 not named OU and Texas) so you have to take advantage of years just like this with players like this returning for the program.
So, if it happens then awesome, great year, everyone is happy, move on to another build. If not and WVU does not contend, it’s clearly time to cut bait with Holgorsen, unite, and rally behind the new HC at long last.

Win/Win year coming up imo.

I honestly think it's past time for a change at WVU.

The previous 4 years before he arrived WVU was 38-14 .731
All-Time your winning pct is right at 60%.

He is .589 in 7 years. It just seems to me y'all are going in the wrong direction

I would be inclined to agree. I don't get the feeling the program is improving. It seems pretty stagnate. The question is always who do you get that is better.

Who do you replace him with is always scary. That can backfire big-time on you.
But, you can do year round research and hopefully line someone up.

WVU doesn't have the glowing numbers all time BUT, they are one of only 9 Power 5 schools that have
never had a losing traditional Decade ('00-'09) They may not over win, but they compete and win
more than they lose in a 10-year period of time.

I don't know anything about his contract, buy-out, whatever, but he certainly hasn't reached
the levels of RichRod and the WVU alum that followed him.

Now this is just me, but he doesn't look like he fits in there. Maybe they like that horrible
hair of his...but I don't think so. Orgeron would fit in there. And I'm not taking a poke
at WVU. He just looks like he could fit in with those folks. They'd like him.

Whatever...it's their school, they'll do what they have to do.
