I had 2 F100s, one was a POS '71, the other was an '80 2wd shortbox with the 300ci straight 6. I snapped a front coil spring in the 80 on a chuck hole. I had oversize springs put on, a bigger I beam, and it sat higher than a 4x4 like a pre-runner before that was in vogue. I ran studded snow tires in the winter and never got stuck. The '80 rusted out bad in 6 years so I sold it. My '98 Chevy 4x4 has the 262ci 4.3l liter v6. Come to think of it, all my vehicles have been 6 cylinders since 1995.

I was thinking about getting the new Bronco.

I will get one if it looks like this:

...but if it is built off the Ranger platform they can keep the motherfucker.

The new Bronco will be on the Ranger platform, which is somewhat irrelevant. Ford should go after the Wrangler with the Bronco, and I've read that the inspiration was the 1973 version.

That makea a lot of sense as they already make an SUV based on the Ranger.

Ford Explorer ST spotted with mild, not wild, styling changes

Seems the Explorer is going back to RWD

Explorer is on the modular CD6 platform, which can do front, rear and all wheel drive...but it does look like it's returning to RWD. It's one of few things so far that CEO Jim Hackett has done well since replacing Mark Fields at Ford, as Fields put so many vehicles on pause to save money. Hackett has sped up the Explorer knowing there is massive cash to be made with SUV's

Was it a six cylinder?

Two brothers in laws had the 2.3L and both motors blew up under 50,000mi. It didn't surprise me none as I had a 79 Mustang that did the same at just over 40,000mi and Ford said it was a disposable engine. I never bought another Ford product after that.

We've got a dozen 2010 & 2011 2.3L 4 banger Rangers in our fleet and they all have over 100k with only regular oil changes.

I could even go with a new Ford Ranchero.
If you don't carry/tow heavy loads.
A light duty truck that didn't harm the f150 sales.

Are they building and selling these things yet?
