I'll just let this gentleman right here explain why so many of us Hoosiers hate Paul George:

DQ9gVajX4AEBenB.jpg
That isn't Paul George's fault - that's the fault of the front office, and the head coach for several reasons:

1. Not even a good leader can lead their team to wins and titles without the right players around them - Perhaps if the front office had got rid of Larry Bird and the head coach and replaced them with some one who knew what they was doing....

2. If after spending 8 years in Indiana, Paul George is still not a good leader here is a newsflash - you're a moron for believing that he should do something that he clearly is not capable of doing and again - It was time for a change.

The bottom line is you're butt hurt because Paul George wanted a change after 8 years - Get over already

Minnesota lost to Brooklyn last night, 98-97. Tyus Jones and 11 points and one assist filling in for Teague - More proof that the ball stops moving when Teague is off the court...

Beating the Cavs by close to a million without Teague

Tyus with 8 assists

For all his faults, Lonzo Ball is already a fantastic facilitator. That is quite literally what he does best and why he was the number 2 pick.

I agree. But he can't shoot to save his life and his old man is just to much baggage.

Jason Kidd-like career still very much in play

PG wasn't a facilitator in Indy because they had point guards who were facilitators.

We really didn't. In the backcourt we had George Hill, Lance Stephenson, and Monta Ellis for the vast majority of George's time here.

And once we did bring in an adequate facilitator at the point in Jeff Teague, George then decided it wasn't worth his time to attack the damn basket. I've said it many times before and I'll say it many time again until you folks are finally able to grasp this concept (which will be never) - And that is the fact that George is allergic to contact. A player of his caliber should be averaging more free throw attempts per game than he actually does.

Considering that both you and @tlance think that George is an adequate facilitator and that Frank Vogel is/was and adequate coach, one would think he would have let him run the offense at some point on a team that had lacked better options. You guys need to pick a standard to abide by, because you can't have them all.

I of course, am on the boat that if George wasn't ever the designated facilitator in those crappy Pacers offenses he was part of, that he was never meant to be the designated facilitator for any team.

I know exactly what it means. If you cared to follow my annual top 50 player rankings you'd know that I'm a fan of Kemba Walker and Dennis Schroder, neither of whom are big assist guys.

And at least I'm not stupid enough to want Paul George as the primary facilitator of the three alphas in OKC, considering he was never even the primary facilitator on the Pacers. But then again if you want him to leave OKC the logic there makes considerably more sense...

Show me one post of anyone in here that actually said they wanted Paul George as the primary facilitator. Paul George is playing small forward position in Oklahoma and with the Lakers quite possibly as a shooting guard, but Lonzo Ball will be the point guard.

Why are you dragging me into this? I never once said George was a good facilitator. I said Westbrook isn't a good facilitator.

You continue to prove that you don't know what a facilitator is. A facilitator is merely someone who makes the game easier for his teammates. It doesn't have to be a point guard. Some PGs rack up numbers, but are lousy facilitators (Russ). PG isn't a facilitator either.

If only there was some kind of stat out there that showed that the wolves assist rate drops by 1.2% when Teague is on the floor, but increases by 3.3% when Tyus is on the floor.

Probably no way to see that the Wolves Shoot, Rebound, steal, and block better when Tyus is the pg. Can you imagine if the backup improved his team that much and at the same time opposing teams offensive rate dropped by 8?

Tyus did all that while playing 65% of his minutes with Jamal Crawford, The worst defensive player in the league. Thanks to Teagues injury you can't even make the claim that it is because Tyus plays against other teams 2nd string. The team did not only not miss Teague, they thrived with out him. That is with Aaron freaking Brooks taking the back up minutes.

Even if Jones and Teague are salary neutral Tyus is a better bargain for the team, when you add in the salary disparity it is not close who has more value. Making 17 million and being out performed by your back up makes Teague in the conversation for LVP.

You're wrong. It's really that simple. That's why you post crap like this that has little to do with what's being discussed.

What you don't seem to grasp, and never will, is that the only reason PG is an adequate facilitator is because he is currently on a team that lacks any facilitator at all. Who is going to facilitate on OKC if not PG? Melo? Westbrook?...Steven Adams?

Your best bet is to move on from this and stop embarrassing yourself. You won't though.

I just think it's quite funny that you think OKC don't have a facilitator, yet somehow the Vogel-led Pacers did...Westbrook had 20 assists in yesterday's beatdown of the Cavs.
Yeah, he's awful.

Believe it or not, I wasn't the one who composed this particular piece:

Once again, you embarrass yourself. The fact that you think racking up a bunch of assists equals great facilitator, shows that you do not possess enough knowledge of the game to be taken seriously in this discussion.

You really should just stop embarrassing yourself.

The problem is, you don't know enough to know that you're embarrassing yourself.

Which is kind of it's own reward.

Right, because replacing Russell Westbrook with George Hill in last night's game would have produced the same results. I'm sure.

No it wouldn't.

Westbrook is a much better player. But, I would be willing to bet that if you replaced Westbrook with Hill that both Melo and George's numbers would be better. I am not talking about just their scoring averages either. They would be more efficient because Hill doesn't dominate the ball and is easier to play with.

That doesn't mean the Thunder would be a better team with Hill. They wouldn't be.

Exhibit A: The 2015-16 Indiana Pacers:

George's numbers that season with Hill at PG (and playing on one of the league's very worst offenses mind you): 23.1 PPG, 41.8% shooting from the field and 37.6% from three.

George's numbers this season with OKC: 20.8 PPG, 43.2% shooting from the field and 42.9% shooting from three.

So yeah, just as I expected - More scoring on a lesser team with considerably less efficiency.

So there goes your weak-ass theory.
