I thought Bevell ran a basic offense that was easy to recognize and had to have all star talent in order for it to be successful. Funny how his success has been measured with two QB's best known for being able to make something out of nothing (Favre and Wilson). I know its been said a million times, but the fact that Seattle has been successful and there is never any interest from other teams trying to hire him away, speaks volumes. He was an average to very bad OC in my book.

You'll have to forgive the vocal majority in our fanbase, they are the official bevell fan club that couldnt see the failures he was responsible for nor that he was deserving of any blame.

Again, 100% incorrect... For example, have you ever seen me say how great Bevell is? Most of us have only responded to your statements saying that Bevell is horrible, and anyone can replace him... No where has anyone stated how much they loved/liked Bevell...

Interesting listing to 710 today... Basically Cable was in charge of the OL, the running game, scheme, play calling for the running game, while Bevell was basically in charge of the play calling for the passing game only... That's a screwed up process imo...

Reacting to a sound bite of former Seahawks quarterback Jake Heaps talking to Brock and Salk earlier in the day about Seattle’s coaching structure with Bevell and Cable, Roberts said the Seahawks’ situation where the two basically had equal say in the offense was “super unique.” Roberts added that it was something that can result in confusion and division among the offensive players.

“As a player, you’re trying to decide who is the top dog,” Roberts said. “… It’s just like having two quarterbacks. The locker room is going to be split. I don’t care how good of friends they are, I don’t care what player says what, all the company lines – if you’re having to decide between two quarterbacks and you’re playing both of them, there’s division in the locker room. And so in this situation, you have two coaches trying to run one offense. There’s division.”

That also meant sometimes the Seahawks appeared to just be trying to find something that would work rather than sticking to a cohesive game plan.

“Sometimes the Seahawk offense seemed like it was a buffet line,” Roberts said. “‘Let me put some of this on my plate and see if it works.'”

be nice if @uwdawgfan would offer something substantial... Seems to be the type of poster that follows a leader... It's time to step out on your own my friend... Have your own opinion! He tends to be the "Survivor" player that just rides on the success of others... :(

I listened to that interview yesterday, and I didn't take from it that the "play calling" was split -- just that installing the game plan during the week was divided between Bevell and Cable. Not saying I think that is the way to go, but it seems it would be pretty tough to pull off in-game to have 2 different guys calling plays and going back and forth between them based on whether it's a run or pass. Clearly Cable was the architect of the run game.

I can see how it could be a bit confusing to have 2 different and pretty much equal voices running the offense, but at the same time it was awfully effective more than it wasn't for the past 6 years. I doubt that's the way we will go again, but it wasn't a failure here.

No, theyd rather blame the defense or blame it 100% on tom cable. For the record, cable is a horrible OL coach that deserved to be fired more than anyone in recent memory.

Just say no to bevell

I don't think there is a Bevell fan club here, rather there is a belief in Pete and company know what they are doing. Don't let that confuse you.

You are confused. It was Holmy that adored the draw on 3rd and long.

So your saying that our defense is not an issue?

Now remember that I was overjoyed that Bevall got canned.

at the same time, it has been entirely ignored, pete carroll is WAY TOO LOYAL. bevell at the least should have been fired after the SB. shouldnt have even let him get on the plane.

my thing has always been, our D is not always going to be the best in the league and that our offense will have to transition to being the dominant side of the ball on this team. that just wasnt ever going to happen under bevell, he wasnt capable. and neither was cable.

When 70% of your payroll is on the defense you don't get a transition to the offense carrying their share. You need to pay better players to do that. If that's what you wanted then your issue is entirely with Pete/JS.

Again, Bevell was good enough to take them to within one play of winning back to back SB's, but you are entirely obsessed with that last play and it entirely ruined you. Like left you for dead.

Get over it.

Bevell is more of the WR screen with zero blockers. Surely it'll work this time!

Not gonna miss that shit
