Wasn't sure where to post this on your forum, so I figured I'd make a thread. Anyway, Fangraphs released their 2018 ZiPS projections for the Giants and they show a lot of improvement.

Thanks, nava.

As I said in the general forum, I am not a huge fan of ZIPS. Why should we follow this particular WAG over someone else’s WAG?

and while I do not argue that the Giants OF is likely the worst in the league, there is actually legit potential for internal improvement. McParker (our nic for Mac Williamson and Jarrett Parker) may not be all-star level (or even good), there isn’t the possibility that one of them could become a league average starter. Duggar has the potential to be a Kiermeyer-lite in CF and Slater is a mini-breakout candidate. The OF in 2017 was never able to develope due to horrible timing on consistent injuries to players that needed to establish themselves (Parker, Williamson, Slater, Duggar, and Arroyo, who was mentioned as a possible OF candidate if absolutely needed). If just one of these players actually develops into something real, there is real room for growth on this team.

I do agree, though, that the ceiling for this team in ‘18 is WC. If everything falls right, MAYBE this is an 87 win team. But there is zero room for adding anything at the deadline, so hitting that mark should prove difficult.
