Cams' one of those tough to grade guys cause it could look ugly, even when the results are good

I do like that he finds ways to get his teams wins more times that not

I'm not a huge Shula fan...I think Cam could be a more accurate short passer by now if he was forced to work on it. The OFC sort of lends itself to looking ugly...a lot of 5 and 7 step drop routes. Norv is more of an old school, playaction, down field OFC too, but maybe less design running.

Eh. Cam is 3-4 in the playoffs. Rivers is 4-5. Neither is a playoff dynamo

Beyond just the playoffs

Big games like SD at Cheifs a couple weeks back for a playoff spot and he tosses 3 picks

That's Rivers

Right now today I'd take Cam, over him and Eli, but career wise no question Rivers > Newton.
Really. That surprises me. Eli yes for sure . Rivers is still lights out

I have to wonder what you're seeing, the Bills were in the playoffs

The Bills were in based on a 3 team tiebreaker. Chargers beat the Bills by a zillion and you know full well a QB can play well and still miss the playoffs . Rivers had like 30 TDs and only 10 picks this year and brought his team back from 0-4 to 9-7. Chargers were probably the 2nd or 3rd best team in the AFC for 3/4 of the year

Rivers definitely looks the part and can still make all the throws. But at this stage...imo he needs what the Broncos got Elway at the end of his career...a strong running game and a strong DEF.

SD is still kind set up for Rivers to carry the team and he's just not that guy now. IMO, Ben is still top 10 largely because of the talent around him...Bell and Brown are All Pro weapons with 2 or 3 more solid play makers and a decent DEF.

Like i said, he is a fantasy QB

If winning is the name of the game, Philip Rivers should be one of the last QB's youd want leading your team

He has played on teams flushed with talent on both sides of the ball, one of the greatest RB's and TE's to ever play, while they were in their primes, Top 10 defenses throughout almost all of his career

Sorry, he's one guy I will always dis-agree with

I'll go with that . I think LA has a lot of nice pieces if they can ever figure out how not to suck in September

his playff numbers dip, but its not terrible

4-5 record
60%
11/9 TD/INT
85.2 rating

i still respect him for that game in foxboro, where he played on no knee cartilage, while LT pouted under his hood on the sidelines.

its funny...you take away his 2 losses to the pats where he played awful (who doesnt in NE in the postseason?), his numbers are that much better.

He's right around the middle of the pack. Sometimes the guy plays lights out like a top 5 QB, but he's way too inconsistent to be considered even top 10. He's a lot like Daunte Culpepper was in the mid-2000's. It's unlikely that he continues to be a top QB once his incredible athletic abilities start to decline.

Im also accounting for the huge regular season games where he is awful

SD should have far better results, far more postseason appearances, and at least one SB appearance in the Rivers era

He is one QB, unlike some others, that doesnt have the excuse of supporting cast, he has and continues to play on loaded teams

4 of the past 5 years he has had a YPA has been at 'solid backup' level. 6.9 or 7.0 average in that span outside of his MVP season. So on a grid his career looks a bit like Colin Kaepernick. A starter with star potential but not consistent enough to be a superstar.

I voted top 20 but it wouldn't shock me if he was top 5 next year

Top 10 since there was no tater salad. Very disappointing.

He needs better WR's. Carolina loves to let CB's and WR's leave for some reason.

Regarding his fashion sense.....he's the Craig Sager of the NFL.
