Hell, most of us here are men, married, or some how connected to a woman in our lives. We above all others should know this from our own experiences with relative silence when most things are generally OK, versus the usual complaints when they are not. :D

Interesting you went there. Since most of us also know, if you ask the woman... how do you feel about ( Insert eatery here) for Dinner, and the answer is Sure or I'm ok with it. That usually means she was thinking something else and just remained silent because she didn't want to get into it.

And that's what the I hope we resign Kirk... BUTTT sounds like. :D

For some, silence is a positive as witnessed here when Kirk has a good game. This would explain why there is little written or posted positives.

Then there are those of us who don't have a silence button and have been divorced multiple times.:pound:Eventually I got smarter and said "I am not buying anymore women a house that I am not sleeping in." :trash:

I’m not a Browns fan, but I hope for their sake they don’t sign either one of these fags.

Sorry, I lost my focus because of other posts, are you referring to Rosen and Darnold? If so, what's your reasoning for this? (saw the fag remark already)

I’ve said repeatedly that I like KC and he is an an above average QB, but unless he has a stellar defense, a good running game, a very good WR Corp, great protection from the OL, he probably isn’t going to get us there. I don’t just look at stats, he doesn’t pass the eye test wrt a QB that can put the team on his back and win big games when the chips are all on the table.

Hmm - let's do an objective analysis of the entire NFL & you tell me how many starting QBs can basically "carry the team on their back" & win w/o major assets on offense & defense.

Brady, Rodgers & Wilson (although he has had a great D) immediately come to mind as falling into this category. Who else? Big Ben? Please - he has the benefit of having possibly the best RB, best WR & all types of other assets, ditto for Ryan & they have a very good D. Brees? Possibly but now he is benefitting by having the best RB tandem in the NFL as well as other weapons & a decent defense (& when he didn't have these he mainly put up good stats but few wins).

Scratching my head to find others. Wentz? Great QB but has the benefit of a top notch OL, good D & other weapons. The only other one who possibly comes close is A. Smith & he has one of the best RBs, TEs & WRs in the league as well as a good D (& Smith is being replaced).

Please identify some others. The reality is that most NFL QBs (by far) need other pieces to do well & yes this setup can result in a championship. I also don't buy the argument that extending Cousins will not allow the Redskins to improve in other areas. If they do an extension (not a tag) they should still be able to address other areas & w/ health & a few good offseasons I really don't believe that this time is that far away from being a team that could consistently be in the playoffs (if the FO doesn't get in its own way).

BTW - I agree w/ you about Cousins still needing to do better in the clutch, but I believe he showed some signs of improvement in this area (SEA & KC games) but still needs to improve.

Set us back? Newsflash Skinsdad... we weren’t very good this year. You can blame it on injuries, rushing game, defense, this or that... whatever... But we weren’t very good. Even without injuries we are a 10 win team at best.

The difference between 7 wins and 4-5 wins? It doesn’t look much different to me. I’ve said repeatedly that I like KC and he is an an above average QB, but unless he has a stellar defense, a good running game, a very good WR Corp, great protection from the OL, he probably isn’t going to get us there. Kind of like Elway until he got Terrell Davis and a D. Sure John helped get them there but the couldn't win it all until they had an entire team.

@Sportster 72 @SoCalWizFan You make both some good points and references, but maybe you should read that post again.

To me, it looks like KC needs all of that to have a chance at ever sniffing a Super Bowl. Last year it was the defenses fault, this year it was injuries and O-Line giving up pressure. Next year it will be our receiving Corp sucks and he doesn’t have enough weapons. KC just doesn’t elevate our team that much. He is an overachiever in a system that fits him well.

With that being said, I have been holding off all year in observation mode, but I am going to go on record as saying that we SHOULD make a fair offer to KC and sign him on a 5-6 contract. He has played well and has been a professional through all of this. He has earned a big pay day. I WILL also go on record as saying that with KC as our QB and a lack of elite playmakers (WRs/RB) on offense and a Top 10 defense, this team is a wildcard team at best over the next 5 years. I will always cheer for this team and would hope for better, but would not expect it. KC is far from an elite athlete and has a bit of a noodle arm. His window will close fast IMO. Give the guy his guaranteed money and a few more years. If it’s more if the same, the FO will have to start about thinking about ‘21 and beyond.

He needed all those things and still somehow maintained being the 3rd rated QB in the league over his three starting years. Miracles never cease. :D

I would like to see him stay but much like Sty and Shark I don't know if anything can beat the Curse of the Danny. I just want to see the speculation end at this point ... if noting else I am tired of the 5 trillion posts and all the radio speculation. We need a new topic like ... what do y'all think of Bruce Allen. :noidea:

what is a fair contract ? highest paid player ? the stafford/carr deals are long since in the rear view

again without KC this season we are a 2-3 win team with colt lining up at QB

he has proven he can lead this offense he basically carried it all year long , and he threw for over 4000 yds 23 tds and 13 picks with one of the worst wr corps in the NFL so garcon and jackson didnt make him as the argument went

injuries killed this team and a relatively healthy team gets 10 wins with the good talent they had working on defense making it at least a middle of the pack defense . instead we were 21 .

Like many, I appreciate KC's skill set as our QB. Best we have had in a loooong time. Great stats...But, here's the thing...KC is not a CLOSER.

He's 30...He is what he is.

Which is better than what we have had in the last 20+ years hands down.

Now we can keep chasing elite at the expense of the rest of the roster..... OR.......

It's not about "chasing elite" shark. The Redskins don't need "elite" with our HC.

I disagree. At damn near every turn some one mentions that Kirk simply cant CARRY the team. To me, the carry the team is a desire for the elite QB.

If we don't need elite, then Kirk should be resigned.

Not a closer, unable to carry the team, not worth what he will cost to keep.... Basically not elite and we should go try to find an elite QB

He has led the team to a game winning drive in 25% of his games. :nono:
