In the discussion about the above photo, someone brought this up:

People say, you know them can't believe!
Sabres, we have a bobsled team!
I saw a tweet last night, the first photo was from 3 years ago and the second photo from last night. All that rebuilding, nothing's changed.

Nyquist has more goals than Hoffman, Patches and Maroon and only two fewer than Kane. Kane is better than Maroon but Maroon likely comes cheaper (both due to player value and you're dealing with Chia) and intangibles (good possession player, even before moving to Edmonton).

Kane's play has also fallen off a cliff - 4 goals since November 20th.

Blake Wheeler isn't much of a leader in your eyes?

Actually no I don't think Wheeler is much of a leader. Good player but not what I think of when I think of a fiery guy who could cow a guy like Kane. Even if I did it's more about the leadership group on any given team and when Kane was on WPG there didn't seem to be any outside of Buff being a douche.

Anyway my point is that GMs aren't doing their job if there is no interest in Kane come the deadline.

Fair enough, although Buff has been a bit of a problem child this year from what little Jets news I follow (playing time) and they seem to be playing through that just fine.

Undoubtedly, and nobody thinks there's no interest. I just would probably focus on the guys I named over Kane personally. If you're a team like Nashville where it's been smooth sailing pretty much from the get-go this season, are you really willing to risk dressing room harmony by taking a chance on him with that many other options available (some for cheaper)? Keep in mind that's a team and GM that saw a good shot at a long run torpedoed by Radulov and the Bratva five years ago.

With the success Vegas is having this year, is it too soon to consider a second team towards the north end of the strip?

I think that's still about half of the team total in that period. I don't know, math is hard.

Chara just felled Danault of the Habs with a high slapper off the side of the head.

Re: Barzal; Always knew that kid would be something good. He would have looked good on the Oilers had they drafted him.

Good news is Danault was released from the hospital and is resting comfortably at home.
