Erik Gudbranson's own goal last night was hilarious.

My favourite part is him looking back to the ref like "CALL SOMETHING", delaying the inevitable "oh man, I fucked this one up".

Lol! True.

Just bad luck there. There have been a number of defensive own goals and pass set ups this season so far. Maybe just pressure to make the playoffs is boyleing over.

So yesterday I come home from work having picked up a nice bottle of Highland Park 25. Nice right?? It gets even better, as the missus (home on mat leave with our 2 month old) has made supper and our 2 and a half year old is acting like an angel. I get to watch the Sens game!!

I call my neighbour, and good buddy, Chris over to watch the game. He likes his scotch as well and brings over a nice bottle of Balvenie. I'm pumped!! We decide to make a night of it and play a little hockey drinking game where you drink whenever a certain thing happens. We've all done it. The catch here is that you pick the other guy's condition (within reason). Chris says that I have to drink every time a Sens goalie allows a goal or just looks terrible. I cross my fingers and hope for the best.

Well, here I am this morning. At the hospital. My stomach has been pumped twice (I think it took this time), I'm out a pricey bottle of whiskey and I now identify racially as green. It could be worse though!! My chosen condition for Chris to drink was that every time Zack Smith killed a play or did something stupid with the puck he had to knock one back. RIP Chris. Now he's dead and I'm just dead inside.

I’ll be at the Leafs-Sens game tonight drinking bathtub vodka that I’m smuggling in. Should be in the Leafs trainer’s room by 8:15 being defibrillated.

I missed the game last night, but another curiosity about this clip.

How the hell was Orpik on a clean breakaway?

Opponent was the canucks lol

I think caps had 5 odd man rushes ... in the second period

OK, honest question.

Is this counted as a shot on goal?

If so, who gets credit for it?

I watched the recap, looked like we dominated the second.

Speaking of which, YouTube has made big improvements to their search functionality for NHL highlights. I love the "condensed game" highlights because they show you all the big plays, not just the ones that resulted in goals. You get a real sense of the tilt of the ice.

If you enter the two team names in YouTube (ex: "capitals canucks"), the top search result is the most recent condensed game package every time. It's a nice change.
