For real? That's insane. aTm is going to kill their own program by setting the expectations so high they can't be reached.

Well, at least they are making an effort. Money, facilities, paying assistant coaches, and commitment from the university is not going to be the problem. It's all on Fisher. He better be worth it because us Aggies are stuck with him for a decade.

So who do the ags target now? And are they going to try to run a pro style offense in Texas? Charlie Strong tried that, found out quick the kids here are too accustomed to the spread.

Well, if you can't get Aranda, why not go after his replacement at Wisconsin? Jim Leonhard?

Did you guys not learn a lesson with that guaranteed stuff and your OC?

You just paid your OC $5 million to coach for 1 year basically because of it did you not?

It has been a cluster the last couple of years on the football side of the athletic dept..

My family (daughter is Alumni '05) and I are Tiger baseball supporters. The football tiger fans are an unusual breed and appears to have lost their damn minds.

Oh well it is only 43 days till baseball season, guess I will watch a little b-ball appears we might have a coach there now that knows a little something about the game.

Man I wish I could make the trip to see Texas/LSU in baseball this season.

I still think LSU should have let him go. They grow a different kind of large athlete in that state that has much more to do with their defensive success than having an elite DC. Another up and comer would have taken the job and been damn excited to get it. When is the last time LSU had a bad defense regardless of the DC?

Best non-conference schedule I have ever seen as a ‘season ticket holder’. We play Texas and Notre Dame in a three or two week span. Should be a great series.

Let me be completely honest, the athletic department did whatever they could to secure a deal because the uprising is real. People are sick of the lackadaisical effort by the AD. He made a lazy HC hire and people have had enough. No good home games, all garbage neutral site crap, game day experience is a shadow of what it should be due to steep fees and promotion of a corperate friendly game day experience. The slightest misstep and Alleva risks a revolt, so basically we are stuck with ED O because that would mean this clown with the 20 ft pole for a nose would be conceeding he made a bad hire, and basically would be signing his own death wish.

Wow. I didn't see that one coming. Elko leaves ND after one season. Elko was a pretty solid DC @ Wake.

Elko isn't a bad hire. I don't know if it's an excellent hire. Solid yes.

He has no ties to the state, has never recruited there. Going to be interesting to see what he can do against SEC teams too. A&M is going to be horrible on defense next year on the DL especially, so he's got his work cut out for him.

I feel you, OU is nuetral every year. At least we have USC at home next year.

I remember we lost him but had no chance to keep him since he wants nearly 2 mil a year. I'm fine with having the best statistical all around defense in the country and paying the better young D coordinator Jim Leonhard a fraction of what Dave is getting. Dave is a good coordinator but is just always waiting for the next opportunity to grab more money and has no loyalty. He'll go to the NFL in a couple years. I hope my Packers can get him since we fired Dom Crapers. Pack can give him enough to satisfy his money needs for a while.

Local radio is stating A&M is offering to pay his buyout ($1.5mil) and pony up $3mil a year. If he leaves LSU is in a world of sh!t and this game will be come a true rivalry.
Michigan State has Dantonio for $4.4 mill a year at head coach and aTm is throwing $3 mill for a D coordinator? That’s Mike Leach/Paul Chryst money.

Yeah they aren't real smart when it comes to money and contracts. And every time they overpay, they still get no results.

Aranda isn't going to make a lateral move anywhere......he's either NFL bound or HC bound.

Well we get Troy... then lose. Whatever idiot schedules I want to punch them in the face. Troy never should be on our schedule, I knew we would lose that game, they always play us tough.

Ed O only makes $3.5 and it isn't guaranteed.

I'm glad Notre Dame didn't go full retard. A&M is throwing everything they've got behind being a contender. Let them have these coaches. There is no reason to reset the coaching market playing along with A&M going full retard financially. It's irresponsible to the fans who pay the bills. Ticket prices and concessions are going to skyrocket more than they already are.

LSU in particular annoys me. They already made Aranda the highest paid coordinator in the game, then they give him like a 40 percent raise? Fuck that shit. They should have just fired Ed O and made him the head coach if he is that important to them.

What's really hilarious?

Aggy is tweeting at Texas defensive recruits that ND is going to spend the money they didn't on Elko to hire Todd Orlando off the Texas staff........

Good stuff.
