You may want to ask Glenn's fiance if there was no other victim in this tragedy. Should we just make heroin legal seeing as an OD is a "victim less crime" to you?

Oh for fucks sake

Me not wearing a seatbelt presents zero threat to other drivers and any of the passengers in my car

if you think its illegal because NYS cares about those I will leave behind, and it isnt a cash grab, than youre a complete idiot

New Hampshire law. Under 18 you have to wear a seatbelt. Over 18 you don't. They have these signs around.

LOL.......The money NYC racks up on seatbelts and cell phones (and i know the cell phone thing is a real danger) is insane

Furthermore, all these cameras now everywhere catching people driving 44 in a 35, and sending a ticket to your house...Jesus its crazy

It's asinine. Victimless crime is 100% correct. If people want the state to control everything we do in the name of "safety" then soon we'll have government mandated portion control on our food. Heart disease kills a helluva lot more people than car crashes.

No, but it does make everyone's insurance go up. Why would you not wear a seat beat anyway?

Helmet and seat belt laws are in place to save lives. They are in place to protect us from ourselves just a drug laws and speeding laws are. Now do jurisdictions profit from citations? Or course. But anyone thinking they are nothing more than a money grab and safety is never considered is the idiot.

There is a reason you can't drive 120 MPH on Interstate 95 and if you think it's only for the revenue you would be wrong.

Nothing like driving around in our station wagon back in the day....Cigarette smoke, no seat belts, 10 bags of groceries and fighting with my brothers on the way back home....I wear a seat belt today, my kids as well....

Yup, remember the wagons with that back seat that faced the other direction of the driver?

Loved sitting back there as a kid

The government is not there to protect us from ourselves. Should the government outlaw alcohol? Smoking? Greasy burgers? Candy?

Driving 120 MPH on the interstate endangers OTHER drivers as well as yourself. There's a clear difference you aren't grasping.

Can't imagine not wearing my seat belt.

They aren't like in the 60's where they were a 2 piece thing (if you wanted the shoulder portion) and once you were locked in you couldn't even lean forward.

These days they aren't even noticed once on.
