I doubt Magic will trade Ingram for anyone even if Kuzma is that good. Ingram is going to be a star in this league and so is Kuzma and Magic and Luke will simply find a way to keep and play both.

Agree. About the only way that I could see the Lakers even considering Ingram in a trade at this point would be if they were getting a proven star who is still young. I'm talking about guys like The Brow, Kawhi or maybe The Greek Freak.

Even at that, I agree with @True Lakers Fan, if they were to trade Ingram...Deng's contract would need to be included in the deal.

BOTH would have to be spot on for me. THE ONLY reason I'd do that trade is if Ingram is less than expected and Kuzman is a proven star and I would not pull that trigger until next season and have some bites from free agents

The Lakers would be stupid to trade Ingram for anyone. The available potential targets aren't going to make us any better any faster than just keeping the present talent. All the players that would be worth trading for started as young talented players and we have those already. Then you have the chemistry thing and we have that already. So I see any trade involving Ingram to be useless fodder for these boards.

I don't see him being traded and wouldn't want him to be. But someone like The Brow, Kawhi or The Greek Freak would make the Lakers much better immediately. Not to mention, unloading the Deng contract opens cap space to further improve the team.

The Lakers aren't going to look to actively trade Ingram and they shouldn't. But there are certain scenarios that they would be stupid to not at least listen to.

Unloading Deng would instantly drop Ingrams trade value if he were included in the deal.

Not to mention an Ingram/Deng offer for any one of those three would be short by about 3 lottery picks of even being considered.

lol...no doubt.

Ingram hasn't shown anything but some potential yet and if he does improve enough to be considered, then the Lakers would be stupid to trade him.

On the bright side, Randle might become expendable if Kuzma becomes the player we all hope he becomes.

Good trade value there.

I read in the paper this morning that with the Lakers trust in Nance and the apparent emergence of Kuzma, Randle may very well be made available.

I will say though, I think he, Kuzma and Nance can play together in Luke's system. Not all 3 at the same time, but 2 of the 3 at a time. Their skill sets are different enough.

If Magic is confident in next years free agency and he doesn't want to pay Randle, he might very well use him to drop the Deng contract for something even as little as a late first round pick.

I think they will give him a chance first, but in January, if he were to be struggling and not developing as expected, and Kyle Kuzma was to continue to be as good - then to get rid of Deng. The Lakers have to much talent, so some one will have to be given up to get rid of the Deng contract.

Strangest thing - I got a notification from Lakersnation and they said gm's around the league were really upset that they missed on Kuzma and was hoping he drafted later. I was able to read the article from a tab I hadn't deleted but when I went to the website to read it in it's entirety, the damned thing was gone. Either way Brooklyn has got to be wishing they had that pick right now -

True. I could see something happening around the trade deadline. It would be nice if Deng plays well and makes himself more attractive.

Here's the problem though. Every other team knows that 1) LA needs to move Deng and 2) LA can't pay Randle so if they want him, they can wait.

It's possible some team does it, but I think the price to move Deng is going to be a lot higher.

True. Hopefully he will play well enough for teams to think that last year was an anomaly. That will lower what the Lakers have to give up to get a trade done. Randle playing well would help as well if the Lakers do decide to use him to move Dengs contract.

Randle has the ability to be a 17/10 guy, imo, lots of value in that.

If Ingram becomes a franchise player and starts scoring a minimum of 15 points and 8 rebounds to 20 and 10, then I expect him to be a keeper, but it's foolish to not give a player a minimum of two to three years. I can see why they didn't give Russell a chance - there was that incident with Nick Young and he simply lacked the maturity. Honestly as of right now, I think Kyle Kuzma looks better than Ingram - that's what makes trading Ingram trade bait if he doesn't improve. It was no difference when I broke into premium auditing. My career depended on my learning and improving on a weekly basis. Now I've been doing it since 1991 and they give me the biggest audits. They don't give me many simple one hour audits - the bastards:mad2:

Not a good game last night. I did not like the rotations with Deng starting. Only one game but the open outside shooting was dreadful. Well moving on...

I didn’t see the game but I do know that Lonzo was going up against Patrick Beverly and that’s pretty much the best defensive point guard in the league it’s good for him to experience that right away

We saw those rotations because of KCP being out. Plus, I would expect to see Luke experiment with several different rotations throughout the season.

This season is less about wins and more about development and establishing an identity and roles.
