This should be a real test of the Kings "speed". I hope the Kings can really open it up on offense and continue to look more creative while keeping that defense backbone.

GO Kings GO!

Miffin pinches up the middle in OT
Flames skate passed him and score on the 3 on 2

The first 2 goals Muffo was out of position and cost them.

I was thinking the same thing.

BTW, Pearson is horrible

3 games does not the season make
I am just commenting on these games and I understand small sample size
Kopitar looking good in two of the three games
Brown best player on the team. Shocked I am
Quick 2 good games one bad period
Muffin :sigh
Rookies not horrid
Carter still on vacation
Cammi have he played yet?
Kempe driving around Venice looking for Cammi
Doughty. Catching whatever Muzzin has
Overall 5 out of 6 points. The team overall had been inconsistent. Game one they were lucky to win. Game two good game. Game 3 there were 2 good periods.
It looks like as Quick goes so goes the team

Not too bad of a breakdown.

Muzzin really is creeping into that "Maybe addition by subtraction" Category. I used to feel that way about JMFJ. Despite the talent, and offensive upside, it just might not be worth it anymore.

I do think Kopitar looks a ton better (System opening up/looks more assertive). I still nitpick, but him putting the puck in the net helps immensely.

I felt like That 70's line all grabbed eachother's sticks for that game. Fanning on shots, bouncing pucks etc. The team just looked "off" to start the game, but nobody embodied that more than the Carter line (Those two early whiffs by Carter set the tone in a lot ways). Not playing poorly per se, but when it came down to that last third of a play, they all just flubbed it. Like passing to the wrong side of the guy (Throw it to the left of right-handed guy etc.). Small things.

It does bother me that we seemingly lose every single major faceoff. Who would you put out there to take a big draw? Seriously asking.

It is driving me crazy how this team doesn't have any more muscle, and is somehow still allowing Tkatchuk to go after Doughty. Insult to injury was Tkatchuk putting 2 in the net, and LA not making him pay while he was in the box late. Kings are still scoreless on the PP this year, so nothing new there. Still sandwich time (And to be fair, also sandwich time on the PK, as they've shut other teams down).

I'm still very enthused by the way they look 5 on 5, and a 0-2 lead last year was game over. Kings came back and got a point, and in all honesty, could have won this game in that offensive onslaught they had to end the 2nd/start the 3rd. They had some prime chances to go up 4-2, and they just couldn't capitalize.

These are the games Nolan will be missed IMO. Seriously why do the Kings let Tkatchuk get away with being a douche. I don't care if they are short a guy for the whole game, someone needs to step into that guy hard. The whole team turned their back on his bs last season, I think Iginla went after someone (another reason why Blake was an idiot not to resign him). Its easy for a team to lose respect for itself and I see that happening to these guys if they don't do something soon.

Muffin, ya over that guy long ago.

70's line, not going to panic yet...they are talented and the whole team is finding their way with a bit more open play so going to give them time.

Faceoffs, Both Kopitar and Carter are usually over 50% I think....while neither is outstanding they are better then average. I think Lewis does ok in limited chances.

Or Larry Playfair, Jay Wells, Marty McSorely, Jay Miller, etc.

All those guys would have handled Tkachuk, as would Avery, but the beauty of Avery was he would pull the same shenanigans Tkachuk does - a bit of medicinal payback. He would be running guys like Bennett and Gaudreau no question every shift until someone engaged him.

McSorley in my opinion would have ended this BS in the first game when Tkachuk elbowed Doughty, he didn't mess around and he was a solid two-way player and leader the last 5 or 6 years of his career.
