What you didn't see was the hono(u)rable mentions that didn't quite make the top 5. I think Borowiecki and Sbisa were in there.

I think we have a new entry for the "This guy scored" book courtesy of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

From the "I didn't see that coming" department:

Nail Yakupov this season has already matched his entire goal total from last season with his 3rd tally last night in a win over the Broons.

so if I'm reading between the lines correctly, what you're saying is the Edmonton "stink" is finally wearing off? :D

Yes sir, that is exactly what I am saying. See Schultz, Justin in Pittsburgh as Exhibit "A"

Also; Dubnyk, Devan - Minnesota and Gagner, Sam - Columbus (last year at least).

So, just watching TSN "That's Hockey" and through the first 50 games of this season, slashing calls are up 495% over last season, yet the number of actual penalties called is only up 18%. What that tells me is that why the refs are calling slashing, they are letting a heck of a lot of other stuff go.

Pricing it at 495% makes it seem much less than 500% though, so that was a smart move.

When you spend all game watching the space on the puck carrier's stick between his hands, you're bound to miss other things.
