I need to vent, so I figure I'll boost the post stats in this thread.

About 6 weeks ago I had a pretty bad cold that I shook off in about 4 days. However, a dry cough lingered for over a month and wouldn't go away. I decided to go to the doctors office to get something for it.
The doctor decides to do a chest xray to rule out any pneumonia. A couple of days later he calls and tells me that there was a nodule found and that I need to come in for a CT scan. He wants to rule out lung cancer, since I'm a former smoker.
Fine, I do that last Thursday and am told that he will call me on Friday with the results.
No call on Friday so I get to spend the entire weekend wondering what was found.

I get a call this morning from a nurse wanting to schedule an appointment so the doctor can go over the findings.
WTF? Can't this information be given to me over the phone? It's not gonna change the outcome one single bit of I get it in person or over the phone. I told her as much.
So now my appointment is on Friday. Instead of waiting through the weekend to know, I get an entire week to wonder if I have some harmless thingy in my lung, or I am on the verge of death.

I'm done. Thanks for the free space.

Shit Tom; I hate to hear about anybody having ailments. Sorry to hear that, I hope everything turns out alright with no worries.

I would think the Dr. would have gotten ahold of you right away if it was serious or if you had anything worry about.. They sure as shit wouldn't make a fella wait a week for results if they were concerned from the get go.
I wouldn't get to worked up just yet.

That sucks. Although you would think if it was something bad they'd arrange for you to get in sooner than that. Best of luck.

That sucks Tom. I hate when doctors say they will do one thing and forget it as soon as you leave their office
I think the others are right though. If it was bad they would have got you in to get treatments started.
