This final is like watching a scrabble match. Worst season that I've ever seen. All the excitement ended at the AO final.

How many games can the poor bloke win? That is the burning question. Brad (Dodo
) Gilbert had this match going to four or five sets!

Never thought I would see this again where Rafa and Roger won all 4 GS in a tennis season.

Bad thing about that is none of the GS finals were competitive except for the AO when they met each other for the title. The other 3 were boring straight set matches

Rafa was smart and returned close to the baseline on the duece side where he was able to cut the angles off and chip the ball back. Not sure why he did not do it all tourney. Made this match easy for him.

i haven't seen the match yet, but i'm thinking andersen being a serve and volleyer caused nadal to change his strategy on the return.

I thought it was an interesting match as how Anderson competed, and fought off break points.

He was in trouble a lot, but delayed getting broken.

Did they have a post match segment with Nadal in the studio? Usually after every major Finals, they bring the winner into the studio.

But I only saw a bunch of NFL stuff on SportsCenter.

watching the replay. from looking at the first set, andersen looks like he has his way when he gets his first serve in. he's able to take advantage of nadal standing so far back on the return and easily move forward and pick off nadals return for a winner. unfortunately for andersen his first serve percentage isn't looking good. when he hits a second serve then he's forced to get into a slugging match with nadal, where nadal has the advantage.

Yup, Nadal will win 3 FOs alone in his remaining years so if Fed wants to stay on top he might want to be in prime shape for the AO in January. Might be his last chance to win a tourney other than Wimby's going forward as Murray and Nole will still be rusty. Some of these young guys are finally stepping forward too and Delpo will be in better shape by then but it will still be Fed's best chance.

friend of mine went to the final yesteday. She said it was not a good match. Felt like a first round match. I am kind of glad I didn't watch it. I saw some of the best matches of the tournament, so I am happy.

Never expected the men's slams to be won by Roger and Rafa this year. So weird.

I would never go to the finals unless i get free tickets or I'm rich. It is hit or miss unless you have the world's best going at it. Not spending a ridiculous amount of money to see a boring match which is why I prefer to go in the middle of the tournament where I can see several matches so one shitty match won't kill my spirits

Querrey is now the top ranked American as he passes Isner.

Anderson jumps from 32>15, Rublev jumps from 53>37, & Shapovalov went from 69>51 That is all in terms of big jumps in the top 60 on the men's side.

My god that Aussie Open going to be really interesting in January due to all the top player suffering injuries.

Can't wait to see the draw for Stan, Murray, Novak, & Kei come January.

That's what was said about Dmitrov at the beginning of the year.

Instead, it was veterans like Querrey and Anderson and Wawrinka making the Finals of majors.

FED will have another good look at a USO.

I could see Nadal winning 2 FOs, but I'm not ready to say 3.

I still like FED on hard courts more than Wimbledon, as it's easier for him to return and break.

The more likely it goes to a tiebreaker at Wimbledon, the more I think things can go wrong.

Thiem is another player who looks like he has potential, but still not there yet.

Anderson started to miss a lot of first serves in the 2nd set.

I agree that Anderson's first serve helped him in the first set.

with nadals resurgence on hardcourts it makes it interesting. it looks like it'll come down to who can stay healthy, plays longer, and wants it the most.

I agree. I would rather go to an early round and see a bunch of matches and players than have an assigned seat in Ashe to see one match that may not be great.

I think she paid a good amount for the tickets too.
