New turf I guess. This time with colored end zones. Oddly enough I believe the soccer team will play on it before the football team does.

Yeah I'm really not sure why they decided the best time to focus real hard on the basketball arena, get new football unis, and get the new turf in was right after the drop down is announced. I guess it's good that it's happening but the time to do this was 1995 after the first move up.

After Petrino & all the talent leaves then we'll at least look like a well-polished turd!

Well, facilities could be a lot worse that's for sure. Could be Idaho State or even EWU with that 9,000 seat eyesore. EWU at least wins though.

Article on Sun Belt QB's

Seniority puts Sun Belt QB trio in rare air

Didn't know that Linehan was 2nd in FBS in career passing yards only behind Luke Falk at WSU. That's of active FBS QBs of course.

Okay, the reason I didn't realize that is because it's not true. They're forgetting about Baker Mayfield and depending on whose stats you look at Mason Rudolph. So I guess if you're talking about everybody outside the state of Oklahoma they're correct....sometimes. At worst he is fourth though.

Praise Joseph Smith, red solo cups are legal again

http://pullmanradio.com/moscow-city...ol-to-return-to-ui-football-tailgate-parties/

"Moscow City Council also approved an amendment allowing alcohol at UI home football tailgate parties. Council voted unanimously to approve the open container amendments. Last year the Idaho State Board of Education upheld its prohibition on alcohol at UI tailgates. The move came after the board realized the university was skirting the regents’ policy with some legal maneuvering making Kibbie Dome lots “private property” on game days. The board this week will consider a policy change similar to the one passed by council. If approved it would formally allow tailgaters to indulge outside Vandal football games."

Hell to the mother f*ckin yea! That was such bullshit when they slapped that prohibition on those tailgates. I was dabbling with the idea of goin up for homecoming this year.

Worked out that I'll be able to make the first two games. Although if they lose to Sac St. I'm not sure I really want to go to the second one.

NMSU releases their 2018 schedule:

NMSU releases 2018 Football Schedule

Honestly a fantastic schedule for them. Three teams that they beat last year (UNM, ULL, Texas St), @UTEP who they always compete with, two games against Liberty isn't ideal but that's two possible wins, FCS Alcorn St, Georgia Southern who's taken a step back lately, and Utah State.

I'd mark down Wyoming, Minnesota, and BYU as losses. No other game is out of reach. Puts them in good position to get to 6 wins if they can show some improvement.

Quick reminder about what Idaho COULD have done in 2018:

@ Florida (still scheduled)
@ Fresno State (still scheduled)
@ Northern Illinois (rescheduled after the FCS drop was announced)
vs. Wyoming (game removed after FCS drop was announced)
@ or vs. NMSU (guaranteed collaboration between the two schools)
@ or vs. Liberty (extremely likely)
@ or vs. UMass (likely)
vs. FCS opponent (extremely likely)
vs. Nevada (likely a return trip from the series that was cancelled in 2017 after the FCS drop was announced)
@ BYU (not as likely as those list above, but a good possibility)

Now you're looking at 2-3 games that need scheduled. It's likely a Sun Belt team or two would have added Idaho like they did NMSU. Then you have the possibility of playing teams twice. If we're on NMSU's schedule for instance it removes Liberty once, TSU, Georgia Southern, or ULL from their schedule and allows Idaho to pick up a game. Honestly, they'd probably would have only had to work to get one game.

Then in the future you're looking at an FCS team, NMSU, UMass, and Liberty likely every year. WSU, and BYU every other year most likely plus Idaho already has 2 FBS games scheduled every year for the next 5 years not counting teams like SJSU and Wyoming who pulled out of a series. That's 8 a year that were likely good to go for the next 5 years if they wanted it.

How will the SBC shake out?

This guy has Idaho going 8-4 and 5-3 in conference. That means a predicted win over WMU which would be pretty big considering where that program was last year. The Broncos will likely take a step back without Fleck but I don't see them being bad.

Got a decent look of the new turf watching part of the Idaho-Boise State soccer game on Pluto TV. Seemed like an improvement I guess. Colored end zones were nice.

Game was a close one too, Idaho tied it up with second left. Ended in a draw though. Quick view of the new field:

It would look a lot better if they took the soccer field markings off for the football games. Pretty bush league #bigskyconference.

That is very bush league... Why can't they just make the soccer teams play out on that practice field next to the KD?

I would guess it's a space issue since the soccer pitch is going to be a lot wider than the practice field. It was actually a bit crammed using the full field width and still leaving enough sideline room in the Dome. Could be wrong though, I know the club lacrosse team and probably the club soccer team use the practice field. That's not during football season though.
