Your guys 1st team D looked great, as expected. Played a big part in inciting what now looks like a real QB controversy here. lol.

Looks like you guys have mixed feelings overall, but that's to be expected. Trubisky's good play is distracting our fan-base from discussing anything else that transpired last night. They booed him after he was drafted, and now he's the toast of Chicago because of ONE pre-season game.

From the looks of things last night, it looked to me (an outsider) like Siemian has the inside track to the QB job. Lynch has a lot of good tools, but just doesn't seem comfortable out there yet.

Anyway, good luck the rest of the way. If you guys can get a little more consistent production offensively, I think you guys should be back to double digit wins and fighting for the West.

:suds:
There are fans , not here, that want to have Sloter jump Lynch in the depth chart after one game.

The best looking Qb last night, and I'm talking arm strength, zip, accuracy, timing, confidence and athleticism was the guy that's only played one season of college football. If we see the same from both TS and PL after wk 3 , the McCarron rumor might very well become reality. 1st preseason game. No worries. Gulp, gulp. ;)

In other news did you see Billy Winn is lost for the season? ACL tear. Certainly not good news.

Yes, but could be worse I suppose. We always lose at least one before the season. :( Last year it was Walker.

We signed DL Nelson Adams.

Not sure what happened on the play but Watson and Wolfe both tweaked their legs. Watson back in practice but Wolfe carted off to locker.

Carlos Henderson to have thumb surgery. Won't know the severity or length he will be out until after the surgery.

Prob happened on first kick off muff thus the second one contributed. Odds are now with surgery he's out of equation. Too bad. Terrible start for the kid.

Mike Klis wrote that the injury happened early in the game on Thursday before the kick offs. Big reason he dropped them. I guess he didn't want to tell the training staff that he was hurting and miss his opportunity.

Raymond sure helped himself out on that front.

Yeah he blew me away with his explosiveness on the field. Wouldn't shock me depending on the severity of Henderson's injury that Raymond now finds himself on our roster. Probably going to come down to him or Taylor for that final WR spot now. Joseph said the Broncos are keeping 6 WR's and we know that DT, Sanders, and McKenzie are locks right now. Fowler is probably pretty close and Latimer has been having a great camp and first game. So that leaves Raymond, Brown, and Taylor fighting for that final spot. Again that is if they plan on missing Henderson for a while.

Yeah Cd I think especially wknd 3 when ( normally ) starters play more, who we see getting more reps at wr and how they take advantage of opportunities, will prob decide who stays and who goes. ST play will make big diff in that also.
Right now however, I'm very concerned on our Qb/ O line situation. :)

Yeah those 2 positions didn't do a whole lot to ease tensions about them not being great. I will say the OL looked much better run blocking wise (1st team unit...the rest of them were terrible). Got some nice push and almost shocked Anderson with how big the holes were. Pass blocking I thought Bolles, McGovern, and Leary did very well. Garcia and Watson have some major work ahead of them if they are to be competent starters.

As for QB I was just hoping one of them would show something. Both showed pretty much what you would expect. Consistency from Siemian but being risk averse. Paxton you saw the athleticism on his run for a 1st down on what looked like he was going to fumble the football. You see the physical gifts of him not even looking like he is throwing it hard but it getting there in a hurry. At the same time that innacurate/inconsistent passing ability. Big game against the 49ers coming up for those 2 to show something. Plus add on practicing against the 49ers this week I"m very interested to hear how they do in those practices going against somebody other than the NFZ and the defensive players not knowing the plays. Maybe one of the guys can build up a bit of confidence and spring that for something. IF not going to be a long season unfortunately.

I think the issue both QBs have is they are never safe. The other is always lurking. If Trevor wanted to take risks and started to throw INTs they may say if that is the case we might as well go with Lynch. If Trevor can get some sort of guarantee after winning the job that his aggressiveness will not lead to a benching, I bet it can be more aggressive. Bottom-line with both , we need more Red Zone TDs. Nothing else really matters.

I know this is a problem we face. The FO and alot of fans want Lynch. Trevor senses it and is playing cautious. The FO will never guarantee he won't get benched with poor play. The Lynch elephant is here. The way the majority of fans view Trevor he is not going to get any luxury of so so play or poor play in 17.
