Great player and a great story. Hope he recovers fast and not sure if he can medical RS to come back for one year, but hope he gets a shot at the next level.

Bad for the player but I don't understand why it is a brutal blow to Whisky.

He missed the entire second half of the season last year and this season
Wisconsin only plays 2 teams...Nebraska on 10/7 and Michigan on 11/18

I can think of at least four 2016 Wisconsin defensive stars that graduated, and represent significant losses for the 2017 Badger defense: TJ Watt, Vince Biegel, Sojourn Shelton, Leo Musso. Are there any more, Badger fans?

Wisconsin doesn't have the recruiting depth of elite programs. With their defensive losses to graduation, combined with a brand new defensive coordinator, the Badgers were really counting on Jack Cichy this season. The 2017 Badger defense is probably not going to be close to the 2016 level.

Despite having to play at Camp Randall in the conference opener, I see Northwestern as favorites for the West Division this year. Also, the Nov 25 game @ Minnesota is not going to be a picnic for the Badgers. The Nov 11 game vs Iowa won't be a cakewalk either.

I believe the Badgers are overrated going into this season..... Coaches preseason poll is a joke..... Wisconsin is #10 but Northwestern is #35, Nebraska is #36, Minnesota is #51, and Iowa #52.......lololol. That's a ridiculous amount of separation between Wisconsin and the remainder of the West.

How the hell is Wisconsin rated so high? Is Alex Hornibrook looking like Tom Brady in camp? It's called the coaches poll, but most folks probably realize it's just some staffer filling out the poll at most schools.

This is what sucks about fall camp.

The arrests slow down/stop and the injuries begin.

Bad break for Wisconsin but they're not built around one guy . They'll be fine . Does make the West slightly more interesting. Although Bucky is still the favorite I think this cracks the door a bit for NW primarily but also Iowa and Minnesota to lesser extent. Ultimately the Badgers schedule is far more manageable than those other teams and even without Cichy they're still the best team in the division

That sucks.

We almost had a bad break ourselves. There was a rumor yesterday that James Washington had a hernia and was out the first half of the season. Come to find out it's something minor that has been known about for a while that got aggravated but wasn't even big enough to keep him out of practice

To bad to see this. Wisconsin was looking like a team that could flirt with top 10 status this year.

I saw that bullshit right before my fantasy draft...so now somebody else picked him up, sucks.

Honestly I would have passed on him regardless. He may be the best wr in college football but we have so many weapons it's hard to see him matching last years numbers. If you can pick up McKlesky or Johnson as a FA and use him as WR3, you might find more value at the position in our offense.

Our biggest fantasy pick is Hill at rb. Yeah Rudolph is a fantasy qb1, but we aren't Washington State. With so many options at wr, opposing defenses aren't going to be able to commit to the run. We like to run a fair amount though, so if you can get a trade or pick him up as a FA, take our running back.
