Could be something as simple as a detached retina.

But you'd think something that simple would not be surrounded by so much secrecy.

To be honest guys i think at least part of the injury is a Orbital blowout. These take a long time to heal and can require surgery if they do not heal correctly. These type injuries also mean NO strenuous or even light strenuous activities. An orbital blowout fracture is a traumatic deformity of the orbital floor or medial wall, typically resulting from impact of a blunt object larger than the orbital aperture, or eye socket. This causes the floor of the eye socket which is very thin bone to be blown out and causes a hole below the eye which could allow the eye to drop through.

I am like 85% sure this is part of his injuries. Heal time is minimum 3 Months if it's minor and as much as 18 months if it's Major and needs surgery. This is why i believe we have not heard anything as well because they do not know what will happen or be needed yet.

So the early reports suggest that Shaq Griffin is really shining so far in camp. Obviously way too early to get too optimistic but pretty much every day there is another report about how well he is playing.

Has anyone who attended camp actually seen McDowell?

I would be interested to hear a first person perspective on his appearance. I would think that the possibilty of an orbital injury would be apparent. Plus other possible injuries might be noticable.

1. I'm not much more comfortable with the O-Line than I was before this offseason. I liked the Ethan Pocic pick and I'd expect he will win a spot somewhere on the offensive line. But even then, the only offensive lineman I have any faith in performing at an average/above average level would be Justin Britt. Everyone else right now projects as mediocre.

2. I still like Rawls a lot. Obviously he had injury issues last year, which I think is an explanation for his poor performance when he was on the field. I'm mostly interested in Eddie Lacy's conditioning. It'll be interesting to see what the distribution of carries looks like by the end of the year. Even if Lacy is at around 245 as his contract stipulates, I still really like Rawls and think he's the most explosive runner on the roster. Also Procise offers a really unique skill set that I think the Hawks will be able to implement. I'm actually very comfortable with the Hawks running backs this year.

I hope for a little more from the o-line but time will tell. I've always been a believer of Rawls when he bursted onto the scene. Before he got hurt his rookie year, he had similar numbers to David Johnson. Now I'm not saying he's DJ but what we say in thise 7/8 games he looked real good. Now healthy, I hope he can regain that form that we saw cause he was lights out for the short time his rookie year.

Dont want to hear about " more chance to get injuries" because injuries are always a concern and if you are afraid of injuries then you are playing and/or watching the wrong damn sport.
Stick your head in the sand if you choose, but it's just a plain truth that more games = more injuries. No thanks. 4 pre-season games is plenty. And with this team playing more games than pretty much anyone else save for maybe NE the last 5 years, I'm ok with not clipping the off-season by a week.

Lots of notables not playing tonight, to include Baldwin, Lockett, Luke W and Darboh. Lots of bottom of the depth chart guys going to be catching passes tonight it appears.

Somebody may have mentioned this earlier in this thread, but what's going on with Dion Jordan? I know he has lose bodies removed from his knee, but will he be off the NFI before preseason ends? I really hoped he had a chance to do something in Seattle.

Rawls and Prosise both reportedly missed practice yesterday and status for tomorrow is in question. Hopefully it's just the team being extra cautious, but this is getting old with these 2 guys. At this point, I'll be surprised if Prosise is out there for more than 4 games this year.

It's discouraging for sure. Being available to play is #1 in importance.

I don't know how much it's worth, but PC did say today that both would be playing if it were a regular season game. I guess that means that either the injuries are very minor and they are just being cautious or he's deflecting a bit to keep the dust from getting kicked up.

Kearse looks like he wont give up his roster spot, he has looked good the last two games. Carson seems to have locked up a roster spot but we know the Hawks will carry 1 more. Either a FB or a RB with ST skills ( return/punt game )Maybe they hold onto McKissic for a couple weeks into the regular season?

WR is a mess because of the play there. Darboh has yet to really show anything and that's a shock but Williams has stole the show. McEvoy is still solid and always seems to be wide open in the deep middle. Would like some feedback on this position. Do we keep 5,6 or 7 WR? We have seen them carry 5 to 7 before in different seasons so who knows, what do you all think?

We know Baldwin, Lockett and Richardson are most likely the sure locks that leaves 2 to 4 spots. Williams, Kearse, McEvoy for your 6? if only 5 then who do you drop and if 7 who do you take as the #7? Do you think Darboh is a lock to make the team as many have stated before? I think PS at best right now, it's to bad as i had high hopes for him. I have to admit i had high hopes for him based off what i thought we needed, A bigger physical WR but Williams fills that role very nicely also, very nicely. Think about it they could put out Williams, Graham, Wilson, McEvoy and Kearse on the field and no pass catcher is smaller than 6 foot 2.

Darboh isn't getting cut as a 3rd rounder rookie. That's way too high of a pick to give up on so early. A 4th rounder is the earliest pick this regime has cut in pre-season as a rookie.

I think the locks are Baldwin, Lockett, Richardson, Darboh, and Kasen Williams. They'll likely keep 6, so 1 spot left. Kearse made a few catches last night, but he also screwed up on the KO return. I think it's a toss up between him and McEvoy.

RB is really interesting. McKissic (who I thought was a receiver before last night) is making a strong case due to his versatility and value on ST. Chris Carson just has to make the team after what he's showed. Cutting Lacy wouldn't be the craziest thing that we've seen happen, but the durability concerns over both Rawls and Prosise probably make his spot secure. It sounds like Tre Madden and Marcel Reese are in a battle for 1 spot. Keeping 5? I guess that means it has to be Lacy, Rawls, Prosise, Carson, and Madden/Reese unless a really surprise move happens like cutting Rawls in favor of McKissic.

Darboh has not earned a roster spot over either Kearse or McEvoy sorry. I get that most of the time they do keep their 3rd rounders but lets not forget he was the last of 4 3rd rounders picked in this draft. FOUR of them and not all will make the team. Darboh was a 3rd round Comp pick so thats like a 4th rounder. He just has not shown anything yet. Maybe the next game he shows why he was drafted with the Comp pick but he will need a BIG game next week. I say the only thing he is a lock for is the PS as i can see him making it through waivers. As the Hawks have tried to do before when they like someone but they just are clicking they play them lightly so there isn't much tape on them and try to slip them onto the PS.
