you dont sign a guy thinking you go 4-12 . i dont know what games you are watching but KC's numbers are outstanding . the real issue with this team is the defense . if its improved we pick up the 2 games and go 10 - 6

Just read Brooks article. I think it was on point all the way around. Was Cuz as calculating as Brooks makes him out to be? Maybe not, but I won't dismiss it and if he was good on Cuz. Get your money, man.

Players really need to take a look at what Cuz did or if Cuz didn't do it. Players need to look at what Brooks said Cuz did. Looking at Darrelle Revis from a few years ago. When he signed what were essentially big money one year rentals with an option to buy and managing to get himself a SB ring in the process. Wouldn't be a bad idea either.

So Peter King just said on nfl network, "if skins franchise Kirk next season at 34 mil they'll actually have more to spend on the team than they had this year. 145 vs 143 mil

we are still talking about a qb that has not won 10 games in a season this is getting old

Are you seriously going there? Since their SB year in 91 the Redskins have only posted 10 wins 3 times out of 25 seasons. In 2012 RG3 didn't win all of those games so he never posted 10 wins in a season (& sucked every season since). So that only leaves B. Johnson & Brunnell. Brunnell went downhill fast after his 10 win season & Johnson went elsewhere.

They were close to 10 wins during both of the last two seasons & to basically suggest that falling short strictly falls on Cousins is laughable. NP - keep propping up Sudfield who has proved absolutely zip at this time. I hope for the best for him (since he is a Redskin) but kind of get the feeling that he will be the next Colt Brennan.

point is shark we all under stand the winning on paper affect but if you sit and watch football on sunday other games beside redskins i have notice other teams qbs looking better then kirk but when i watch skins kirk sometimes under throws waits to long he dont look as good as others i seen keenun playing better then kirk. ive seen tryod taylor playing better then kirk sometimes ... you and others can call me names and stuff but this is what i see

Every QB makes mistakes & sure on any given play any QB can look as good as even the best. The comparison to Kennum is a joke. Are you sure that you are a Redskins fan?

I can't believe they'll put themselves in a situation where they have to pay him 34 mil. At this point, they really should just ante up the guaranteed money and give him 25 mil a year - with 3 years guaranteed. If he doesn't accept, then at least you can say you gave a legit offer.

All along, it seems that it was their decision to keep him as a lame duck QB, and that's not how you build a winner.

The Front Office Royally screwed this up but at the same time if Kirk Cousins has only a ok season he will not get the contract he wants no matter who the team is

Thats going to depend on what you set as the criteria for an OK season.

If he has another 4500+ yard season, with 25-30 TDs and less than 15 INTs, but the team still finishes in the 8-10 win realm due to factors outside of QB play, Kirk is going to get paid by some one.

T-minus 4 hours and 28 minutes until who should we draft at QB goes into effect. :D

Again...the season he has is not important. Somebody will pay him next season, regardless of how he does this season. Somebody will give him 22 million a season and 40 million guaranteed if he can walk next season.

maybe but he has no excuses this year we should have a damn good offense with massive upgrades on the defensive side so he has to show he can make the big plays when games are on the line so far he has not shown that he can and he isn't the type of QB that makes players around him better

I have relatively high hopes, but there are still unknowns on the offense. Doctson & Pryor have to prove themselves in this offense. Perine should provide an upgrade in the running game, but you never know. There is also the injury factor in regards to any player on the offense - a key loss likely has a major impact. We will see. I just don't get this whole mindset of wanting 100% guarantees on everything before making long term commitments - IMO just a terrible way to run a team.

Agreed. While I can see why the FO has been hesitant to ante up. This course of action or inaction as the case may be, has been a as Charles Barkley might say. Just a turrible plan. Just turrible.

Nobody can ask for a 100% guarantee nor do I think anyone is asking for that. Some clarity would've been nice though.

Perhaps not 100%, but this FO does not appear willing to take any risks in regards to Cousins. Meanwhile - the bill keeps getting larger & larger & I am afraid that these clowns may very well apply one of the tags to Cousins next year which just makes no sense IMO. Do these guys understand the risk of moving on to a new QB given the history of this franchise in this area? What makes anyone believe that this team can successfully find a new QB?

Just HORibil, Charles - as Bill Walton would respond. Hey Charles, let's you and I run for President and VP - me as President, of course. That would be tremendous!

well here is the deal .

the next step in this teams development should be to get a playoff win . when was then last time the skins won a playoff game ? the year was 2005 or 12 years ago

to do that they must get better play from the defense . the defense should be better but that has yet to be seen . if either DJ or cravens fails miserably we wont improve . if our linebacker dont tackle and cover well it wont happen . if our d/line cant stop the run better it wont happen

i feel it will improve and i see us as a 10-6 team , and making the playoffs with a chance to win a playoff game

As long as it doesn't interfere with my golfing. I'm in. I just won a tourney you know. My game is tight right now.

Yeah, there is risk involved in moving on from KC. I'm just not sure KC does a whole lot more than what he has in terms of wins and losses. He'll put up some nice stats, have have mega-awesome games and the Skins will probably be fun to watch play. I can't say I'd blame a lotta Skins fans if they were fine with that. Especially fans who weren't around or old enough to really enjoy the Gibbs 1.0 era. I'm looking for more though.

Losing his offensive coordinator and TWO 1,000yd WRs isn't a decent excuse?
