Great episode. My only real gripe was the stunt casting. IMHO, that type of thing just doesn't belong in GoT...

Agreed. And if they were going to do it, he wouldn't be on my list. That being said, apparently Maysie Williams is a huge and it was done at her request. I really liked that scene though. It seemed like Arya had a bit of an awakening as she realized that not all Lannister soldiers are such terrible people.

I wonder if she freed uncle Edmure while at The Twins. Perhaps she didn't know he was there.

They were from Season 4. A farmer(?) and his daughter took Arya and The Hound in for a night and fed them. Then the next morning The Hound stole from them. He beat the father in the process but didn't kill him. Arya did not approve and The Hound told her they'd be dead by winter anyway.

Rewatching some eps before the new season tonight (specifically Battle of the Bastards) and it got me thinking, why did no one ever think to outfit Wun Wun (or any giant before that) with some type of armor? He took a shitton of arrows wearing basic clothes and kept going. If he had any semblance of protection, even if it was just multiple layers of clothing but especially with actual armor, he'd be damn near unstoppable. Fucking Jon Snow. He knows nothing

Jon got pretty lucky that day. After Wun Wun breaks down the doors of Winterfell Jon stands right next to him and they have a little moment. Ramsay sees this and just sort of strolls right up unseen. He basically has a free shot at Jon but for some reason he decides to put an arrow in the basically already dead Wun Wun. Kind of weird. Ramsay started out as just a crazy person, then somehow became an untouchable tactical genius, and then in that episode became retarded.

Everyone catch the valyrian steel dagger in the book Sam was looking at? Might indicate it dates back pre-wall and its certainly important. Rumor has it
Arya has it in the previews of this season, perhaps stealing it from Little Finger. Guess that other stuff might be more of a spoiler than this.

I liked the scene as well. It was just Sheeren's inclusion that I was disappointed in. But I would still rate the episode about a 9 or 9.5, so it is no big deal.

I got the sense that Arya had full intention of slaughtering the lot of them. But they were all just a bunch of good guys trying to feed their families and were not evil rapists and pillagers. Each had their own back stories, to. One was a song writer, one was a vintner, one was an expectant father who wanted a daughter, not only so she would watch over him in his old age, but so his son would not be forced to fight someone else's war, like him.

Beautiful scene, actually.
