I know I said I would wait on this for a couple weeks, but I come from an ADHD family and don't have the patience to wait anymore. There comes a point in a man's life where he needs to put his money where his mouth is and to prove a few haters wrong...

A few terms and notes of the bet:
  • If the Pacers win more regular season games than the Lakers in 2017-18, Shaqdaddy must wear an avatar of my choice for three months, from the start of May until the end of July. And I have the right to allow any message board friends (@handicappers , Wiggy, etc.) to help me pick the avatar.
  • If the Lakers win more games than the Pacers, I have to sport an avatar of Shaqdaddy's choice for the same time frame. And likewise, Shaqdaddy's message board friends (Heatles, ChiefsLakers67, DJ, etc.) are allowed to help pick the photo.
  • Tiebreaker will go to whichever team scores the more combined points in the head-to-head series.
  • Last season, I took five and a half months away from SportsHoopla and might do the same this season. As I approach my 30th birthday next winter, I will be headed back to school and take a course in medical terminology in addition to my continued employment as a dietary aide. There's a strong likelihood that I will be eliminating some of the drama in my life while I take this class. I can't be a dietary aide my whole life (LOL). With that in mind, I promise to be back in time to honor my side of the bet.
  • If I, HurricaneDij39, fail to uphold my end of the bet (which a few numbskulls think I would do in spite of my history of taking avi bets on CBS), then SportsHoopla has the right to permaban me from this board.
A rundown of past avatar bets I have taken in my message board history since joining CBS back in 2007:
  • I made bets regarding the Lakers with a Lakers poster of CBS with the SN VicDaRuler, during three consecutive season. He won the bet the first two times. The third time I won, but he never made his back to honor his side. Suspiciously, his fellow Laker posters at the time hadn't heard from him either, which led me to believe that maybe he got killed in a car wreck or something. R.I.P. Vic.
  • I made a bet with a CBS poster named Zagstuh over win totals of the Pacers and Warriors one year. I won, and made him sport a Mike Dunleavy Jr. avatar.
  • I made a bet with @bksballer89 regarding the post-Dwight Howard Orlando Magic. He won that one.

@Shaqdaddy11 Deal??? (Slams pen on clipboard...)

@trojanfan12 Feel free to sticky this if you feel it's necessary.

The funny thing is, if I lose this bet, it likely means the Pacers will have a high lottery pick while the Lakers still won't have a lottery pick at all regardless of where they finish. So, I really don't have a great amount to lose here.

So first you offer a 3 month avi bet and then literally two sentences later you come up with "I might take another 5 month break soon"

Also, claiming Wiggy and handicappers are your friends doesn't really make you look good.

The NBA regular season ends in mid April. The loser of the thread doesn't have to start wearing the av until May. Who cares if let's say he take a 5 month break from SportsHoopla from let's say November through April. You just need him back by May to own up to the bet assuming you win

And, he says if he doesn't return, he is authorizing the powers that be to ban him permanently.

Bit of a stretch there...

Not necessarily. To be fair, @HurricaneDij39 did also take a hiatus last year of about the same length of time and returned.

I don't recall there ever being an issue of him not honoring a bet, so I'd say he'll return in time to honor the bet as promised.

Knowing Cane he will live up to his bet. Made bets with him on CBS before. He doesn't run from a simple av bet. He isn't wiggy lol

Public perception don't mean shit in this case. Those two generally get good reviews on SportsHoopla, better than myself actually. The only reason you don't like them is because they don't root for YOUR team.

1) I don't know handicappers. But I know Wiggy doesn't get good reviews.
2) The fact that Wiggy gets better than reviews is fucking depressing. Like holy shit that's bad.
3) People don't like Wiggy for a myriad of reasons. Him not cheering for someone's team is not one of those.

You want to make everything here about favorite teams. It isn't.

I have a great deal of respect for people I consider to be strong posters. Some are Heat fans, some are Warrior fans, some are Laker or Clipper fans. I could care less who you root for. In fact, I got into it at the start of the playoffs with a Wizards fan who kept making homerific posts about how great Kelly Oubre was.

What makes a good poster is the ability to remain relatively objective and actually contribute and advance the conversations on these threads. I could care less who your favorite team is. If a Wizards fan says dumb stuff, I will call him/her on it just the same as I would anyone else.

I'd wager that no one wants him rooting for their team. Even Cavs fans.

Same. I can't stand the Cavs but I have no issues with Gordon. I could careless about the Warriors, Lakers, and Celtics but they all have a solid group of posters who I respect
