This senior citizen has been patient for far too many years-I want a Cup now!!

Ok, Lasgop...Lol

The way he talks, we may be fighting with Vegas for the best odds on the first overall pick in the draft next year.

I tend to be a little more on the optimistic side of things.

Yes, it's been awhile since we've lifted the Cup, but we do keep running into dynasty teams, especially in the Finals.

That and the times appear to have changed. If you're not drafting and developing your own talent right now in the Nhl, you're not winning anything. It takes time to install that system into our franchise and Hexy is doing that as we speak. While it may seem like this is taking forever, we're probably even ahead of schedule right now.

Drunk as hell, and hoping I do not offend.....
I know there are folks upset about the off season moves, but I will say this......
Reading articles and looking at Development camp, teams in the NHL need to be prepared for what we are bringing to the table this year!!!!
We have a hell of a team in the waiting here, and if it be this year or next, who cares..... Teams are going to have to be ready and prepared for what this team is bringing and what lies in wait for what is coming from this team.

@lasgop8 I feel your anger on Schenn, but you'll see we have improved my friend.....
@Maverick426h I am with you on G....I hope just as much as you, his slide is over. I can't see a Cup without G..... can't see it.

This is the team Hexy is putting together for us, and I have every faith in him!!!!
I have never been much of a Philly fan, because after one year the fans want everyone fired. That can not and will not EVER win us a championship. Just trust in the powers that be and be patient. I know @lasgop8 your say about waiting for 2 to 3 years.... just enjoy the ride my friend..... it is all a part of being Champs. The Ride!!!!

I don't see a Cup without G either. Not anytime soon, at least. Five more seasons of him and trading him is not feasible. Besides, that's a guy we want leading our team in the postseason. He's not done yet and I can't wait for it to be on full display.

If we get what we want out of Provorov, Patrick and Hart, we could end up having what this franchise hasn't had since probably Howe, Lindros and take your pick of Hextall/Lindbergh/Parent. And all of them on the same team at the same time too.

Say what you will about Lindros, but he was probably the most dominant force in the game for half a dozen seasons before his concussion issues. I would gladly take a second helping of him minus those concerns.

Don't worry, JR. G is coming.

You really think one of the most competitive guys in the hockey world is going to just fade away at age 29?

Please.

He should only just be entering his prime.

Jr????
You obviously have me mistaken for someone else......

I think it speaks volumes that Roenick took the time to speak of this, shows he also still has the faith in G. Now it's just up to G to silence the critics. Telling me he's one of the most competitive guys doesn't say much, I mean if anyone on the ice wasn't competitive.....how long do you think they would be in the NHL????

I mean he has elite level skill and competitiveness. That doesn't just fade away at age 29. He needs to just have a good offseason of training and then be himself next season. Work your magic, G. You're one of the best playmakers in the game. I have faith that you will return to greatness in short order.

I have defended Giroux on more than one occasion, I like the guy, I have his autograph as well as many game pics of him in my fan cave. Do I agree of him being team captain, not whole heartedly. Do I believe he is a key component to get a cup......yea.
I believe he needs to have a career year this season or I can see Hexy begin to start shopping him around next year. I think Hexy will not only listen to offers for him, I can see him looking for a blockbuster deal with him. He may not be done at age 29, but he is on a steady decline since the 13-14 season. He needs a career year this year, period.

We can discuss elite when he puts up the numbers that's expected of him, at this present time he is not the best player on his team let alone elite.

I just think that given some serious injuries he's dealt with as of late, how long the results of those lingered and the lack of being able to give him two solid, constant wingers, we're a little quick to completely trash him. He's already admitted that he wasn't himself for most of this past season after recovering from hip surgery, so I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt on this one and trust that he will be much better moving forward.

Yes, everyone knows the numbers have declined, but it's really just been one below average season followed by one bad season for him. He was tied for 10th in scoring as recently as '14-'15 with Sedin, Tarasenko and Foligno (who had a career year) and he's still a power play wizard regardless of anything. Everyone is trying to stop him on our pp and he still gets 30+ points. Despite the rough season and not being himself, he was 4th in the Nhl in faceoff wins too. This all makes him as valuable to our team as just about anyone else.

And yes, Giroux is getting trashed big time, not necessarily by you, but by the population in general.

He deserves some of it, but not all of it and I am confident that he will bounce back in a big way this coming season.

Pretty unreal how quickly you can go from hero to zero regardless...Lol

People are ready to ship G away for a bag of used pucks when less than 3 years ago he was considered a God among men in Philly.

No problem, G. Take your lumps and get knocked down a few times, but you can still rise up and win it via knockout in the final round. We know a little bit about these stories in Philadelphia...Lol

Its been a while since we lifted the cup? Its been six years since we went past the first round.

We are getting good. Right at the time when we should be elite it will be lockout time.

People like myself wanted to trade Gee for Galchenyuk how is that equivalent to a bag of pucks?

As far as being a hero i dont know how you can be a hero of a team that hasn't been out of the first round in 6 years.

A deep playoff run will silence the critics and ill be the happiest critic of all.

Patrick signed his ELC today. Max at $925,000 with bonuses. Amazing we have a full squad plus cap space. Something overlooked is that another $1.5 comes off next year from Umberger's buy out. Go Hexy!

Dude seriously????
I believe the words I used were blockbuster deal, how the hell does that equate to a bag of used pucks???
Also, I have been around all Philly fans and what you did 3 years ago in Philly don't amount to ha hill of shit.
Last year, first 6 weeks of the football season, Carson Wentz was a God....by the end of the season they wanted him bagged and sent straight to hell.....

All I did was post up an article that I thought was cool because Roenick took the time to take up for G, but ultimately G needs to pull it together.....Sorry I thought it was decent of him, but you give me this Jr crap and now feel the need to make up excuses..... Excuses are not going to get him his almighty name back, only he can. Remember, the team is the Flyers, not the Philly Giroux's. Players come and players go, because they are a part of the team, they are not the team. I mean look @lasgop8 was pissed about Schenn leaving, understandable, but Schenn as well is not the team. He was "part" of the team.

As I said before, I like G. He can be a very key part of getting the cup. BUT, I think if he doesn't put up numbers this year....he could very well get shopped. I would like to see him put up these numbers, BECAUSE it makes the TEAM better. It's very difficult to be objective and not insulting when there is idolism involved.

I'm not trying to insult G or you in any way and seriously apologize if that is what you have garnered from all of this.
